Mission Summary

The Cardassians have been quiet as of late, but now reports are coming in of unwarranted blockades on several peaceful planets near Cardassian Empire space. Starfleet Intelligence does not have information on whether this is the Cardassians or not for sure, but investigation is required

Mission Progression

The USS Sovereign is currently en-route to rendezvous with the USS Andromeda near Starbase Deep Space Nine, this being the key strategic location to launch all operations against the Cardassian Empire's latest threat. The Andromeda is currently at the Starbase waiting for the Sovereign's arrival. Estimated eta is stardate 65026.25 ( January 10, 2388, Time: 14:34:48 ). From there, the two ships will be progressing to the first blockaded colony, located in the Trivas system not too far from DS9, the Sovereign and Andromeda should be a match for the 3 Galor-class ships blockading the planet so this should be removed without an issue.

Mission Progression

The USS Sovereign has arrived at the rendezvous coordinates with the Andromeda, twenty minutes ahead of the original scheduled time. Both crews are now hard at work making sure that both ships are in the best of conditions prior to leaving for the Trivas system. Once these checks are complete both ships will head for the colony in question, Trivas III which was colonised in the early 2380s. The old sister station to DS9, Empok Nor, is still inside the system but remains inoperable, this will be another objective both vessels to ascertain whether the Cardassians are trying to reclaim the station.

Mission Progression

The USS Sovereign and USS Andromeda are now underway for the Trivas system. Scans of the system have discovered that there are three Galor-class ships in the system, they are currently orbiting Empok Nor, but they are still keeping a close eye on Trivas III. They have intercepted two vessels that attempted to leave the planet. The USS Omega's fate and current condition is unknown, but it is presumed that the Cardassians overpowered her and destroyed her. If this is the case, then this means that they are wanting to take over Empok Nor. Admiral Moorey has been updated on the current situation and has contacted Starfleet to discuss sending reinforcements to DS9, to then meet with the two Sovereign-class ships at a later date.

Arrival time in the Trivas system is estimated to be on 65028.87 (January 11, 2388, Time: 13:35:38 ).

Mission Progression

The USS Sovereign and USS Andromeda have arrived in the Trivas system, although have detoured on their way to the Cardassian blockade as sensors were picking up the USS Omega's transponder signal, this is the first contact we have had with them since they arrived at the system. Upon reaching the co-ordinates, they discovered the stardrive section of the ship, a drift and heavily damaged, very obvious signs of battle caused the ship to be on the verge of destruction. Scans concluded that the weapon signatures were of Cardassian origin, but were slightly different to standard Cardassian disruptors, and clearly did more damage than ordinary disruptors.

One thing to note, the saucer section is absent, with no sign of her destruction, it must be somewhere within the general vicinity of the system, a search will have to wait until the blockade situation has been resolved. Time to head deeper into the system and deal with the Cardassians.

Battle Of Trivas

The USS Sovereign and USS Andromeda have retreated from the Trivas system, after a devstating attack from the Cardassian forces in orbit of the colony on Trivas III. After dropping out of warp near the planet, they found 3 Galor-class vessels in orbit, after a brief exchange of hails, the Galors openned fire collectively on the Andromeda.

With the Andromeda weapons and some other key systems disabled, the Sovereign attempted to pull the fire of the Galors, with minor success but noted that they managed to do very little damage to their opponents, whilst they managed to almost cripple the Andromeda. Considering two Sovereign-class ships should be an easy match for the Galors, overall combat effectiveness was minimal. The only reason the Sovereign was able to keep fighting was its prototype regenerative shielding, which will be promptly install on the Andromeda.

The weapons used on these Galors have the same weapons signature as those found on the stardrive of the Omega, clearly a hybrid between Cardassian and Zephan weapon systems. The two Sovereign class vessels are now en-route back to Deep Space Nine, to start repairs on the Andromeda and re-group, to decide what the next course of action will be.

Mission Progression

The USS Sovereign and USS Andromeda arrived back at DS9 and conducted emergency repairs to get both ships back up to full strength. Admiral LeChance has ordered the Andromeda to leave the sector and go onto another assignment, leaving the Sovereign to be the only Sovereign class in the sector. With this change in orders, Captain Morris has contacted Admiral Moorey, informing him of the situation.

Following on from this information, Admiral Moorey dispacthed the majority of Task Force Omega, except for the USS Victory (Galaxy-class, Admiral Moorey's temporary flagship), USS Canberra (Nebula class), USS Leyte Gulf (Akira class) and USS Columbus (Rhode Island class (refitted Nova)). Full list of en-route reinforments are below. Admiral Moorey will be staying in the Hydra sector, changing plans from reinforcing the Sovereign - further information classified top secret.
