While it is nice that donors have their perks, as they should in some cases, I can't say I enjoy the possibility of a "club" mentality. I was already part of a community where this happened and things went a bit south. But, I like it as it stands right now. I'll probably subscribe soon just to help support the community.

The club mentality was something that was brought up during discussion and so certain things were scaled back because of it, there's no special forum for those contributors to post in. There is only a read only forum with information in about various subscriber bits, it's where updates will go as well. Everything is designed to be a cosmetic bonus, not give any major advantage to anyone.

I also believe we have a member base which isn't going to let this go south

As long as its a extension of whatever services or resources that are out there and there is no preferential treatment, that shouldn't cause a problem. Its usually when people want to expand on that, that you come to a bit of a grey area.

I'm fairly confident there won't be any issues. Car guys on the other hand..well its hard to have that in a forum about cars. lol

A paid raffle could work. About $1 per entry with 3 winners.

Until the UFP has enough money to cover its annual finances, any talk of raffles etc are unfortunately off the table. Once the UFP is in a better financial position then we can look at this again. The subscription system was introduced to help ground the UFP's finances, whilst offering little perks for prolific donors. It would be irresponsible of us as a community to spend our donors money on raffles instead of running costs that keep our community online.

I think that's optimistic, I don't think we have that many people who are going to pay real money to enter a raffle. Considering a lot of online raffles are free, where you retweet and share on Facebook to get entries. As nice as it would be to get something like that going, I don't think we are in a position to do that
