After last night learning curve not that we gave it are best shot as we did and was in my eyes very good so I spent most the night after the raid trying to piece together something we all read and sing off the same song sheet so to speak . At this current time of writing this we have cleared three bosses defeated Skorpyron, Chronomatic Anomaly, and Trilliax, but I felt that we all needed to try and fight something that we all read and watch and gather some info so we are all watching the same tatics so to speak so here goes : ( Thanks to Wow head for the info I know its not amazing guides but I thought if we all watch the same think at least we will have the same tactics)

    Raid Background

The Nighthold was a bustling city, separated from the rest of Azeroth after the citizens decided to seal themselves off and protect themselves from the Burning Legion, believing the rest of Azeroth lost. In the events leading up to Legion, Gul'dan approached Grand Magistrix Elisande and seized control of the Nightwell, the sustaining life-force of the Nightborne. Due to relying on the magical power of the Nightwell for millennia, the Nightborne are addicted to its magic and wither when they are taken away and exiled from its energy. This moment was covered in the Twilight of Suramar comic which was published leading up to Legion.

    Boss Order

The Nighthold is a partially non-linear raid. Players must defeat Skorpyron, Chronomatic Anomaly, and Trilliax, and Spellblade Aluriel in that order to access four bosses which can be killed in any order, However players will likely kill them in the following order:
Star Augur Etraeus (Astromancer's Rise/Eternal Observatory)
    High Botanist Tel'arn (Shal'dorei Terrace)
    Krosus (The Shattered Walkway)
    Tichondrius (Captain's Quarters)
From there, the remaining two bosses must be completed in order: Elisande, and Gul'dan.

    Skorpyron Nighthold Raid Strategy Guide

    Quick Tips

Overview – Skorpyron's lair is a constantly spawning chamber of scorpids that join the battle following [Call of the Scorpid] , but which also attack if any player strays too close.

    Damage Dealers –
Take shelter behind [Crystaline Fragments] to protect yourself from [Shockwave] .

    Healers –
Take shelter behind [Crystaline Fragments] to protect yourself from [Shockwave] .

    Tanks –
[Arcane Tethers] accrue during [Arcanoslash] , and need to be broken to reduce damage taken.
Take shelter behind [Crystaline Fragments] to protect yourself from [Shockwave] .

Chronomatic Anomaly Nighthold Raid Strategy Guide

Players must first defeat Skorpyron before gaining access to Chronomatic Anomaly, who can be found patrolling around the Nightwell at the base of the Nighthold complex.

    Quick Tips
Overview – The rate at which time flows fluctuates over the course of the encounter. These changes affect players' movement and actions, but the Chronomatic Anomaly is exceptionally sensitive to the flow of time and its abilities may be drastically affected.

    Tanks –
Monitor your stacks of [Chronometric Particles] and be aware of any changes in their duration.
[Power Overwhelming] can be interrupted by a [Temporal Smash] from a Temporal Orb.

    Healers –
You will have significantly different amounts of time to react to [Time Release] based on the the current Passage of Time rate.
Waning Time Particles continually emit raidwide damage via [Warp Nightwell] .
[Power Overwhelming] inflicts increasing damage until it is interrupted by a [Temporal Smash] .

    Damage Dealers –
Waning Time Particles and Fragmented Time Particles continually emit raidwide damage via [Warp Nightwell] unless interrupted.
Defeat Waning Time Particles quickly to allow your tanks to interrupt [Power Overwhelming] .
Once hit with [Temporal Smash] the Chronomatic Anomaly will take additional damage.

The fight is unique in that Chronomatic Anomaly will use these abiilities in a different order on each difficulty. Even within the same difficulty, Chronomatic Anomaly will use his abilities at different times and in different orders in each phase. Because of this, there is no real way to list most of the spell cooldowns and frequencies here; consult a boss mod if you require more details on timing.

In LFR, Normal, and Heroic modes, Chronomatic Anomaly will cycle through the phases in the following order:
    • Speed: Normal
    • Speed: Slow
    • Speed: Fast
    • Speed: Normal
    • Speed: Fast
    • Speed: Slow
    • Speed: Normal
    • Speed: Slow
    • Speed: Fast

The first four phases are triggered by using the Temporal Smash/ Power Overwhelming interaction; the time speed will shift immediately when the tank interrupts Power Overwhelming. Subsequent phases become uncoupled from this interaction, making the fight feel very unpredictable.

After 7 minutes, Chronomatic Anomaly will enrage and cast Full Power, if he isn't dead by this point the raid will wipe very quickly.

In order to access Trilliax, players must first defeat Skorpyron and Chronomatic Anomaly.

During Cleaner mode, eat [Toxic Slices] . During Maniac mode, avoid [Annihilation] . While Trilliax is in Caretaker mode, hop onto scrubbers when they malfuction to prevent the raid taking damage from [Cleansing Destruction] .
On Mythic difficulty, Trilliax uses Personality Transference to activate additional constructs. When Trilliax's current mode matches the additional construct's, they activate Dual Personalities.

    Damage Dealers –
During Maniac mode, stand close to your partner when connected by [Arcing Bonds] .
During Caretaker mode, jump on Scrubbers when they channel [Cleansing Destruction] .
During Cleaner mode, stand apart from the raid when affected by [Sterilize] .
    Damage Dealers –

During Maniac mode, stand close to your partner when connected by [Arcing Bonds] .
During Caretaker mode, jump on Scrubbers when they channel [Cleansing Destruction] .
During Cleaner mode, stand apart from the raid when affected by [Sterilize] .
bullet,Kill the additional constructs activated by [Personality Transference]

    Healers –

For the next four Bosses can be done in any order but for the sake of been simple I will go occuring to this list of bosses I below :

Star Augur Etraeus (Astromancer's Rise/Eternal Observatory)
    High Botanist Tel'arn (Shal'dorei Terrace)
    Krosus (The Shattered Walkway)
    Tichondrius (Captain's Quarters)

Star Augur Etraeus Nighthold Raid Strategy Guide

Most groups will fight Star Augur Etraeus on their way to reaching High Botanist Tel'arn. Etraeus is nominally the fifth boss of the raid, and is the second boss in the Royal Athenaeum wing of LFR.

Star Augur Etraeus is available the week of January 17th on Normal and Heroic, January 24th on Mythic, and February 7th on LFR.

    Quick Tips

Overview – Star Augur Etraeus fights within a stellar observatory of his own construction. At 90%, 60%, and 30% health remaining, he will activate his observation deck to project the raid through the nether overlooking different worlds, siphoning the energies of those worlds to empower his abilities in different ways.

    Tanks –
Huddle together with clumps of players to remove [Absolute Zero] , avoiding players with [Chilled] .
Use [Fel Impact] to clear pools of [Felflame] .
If a Thing Which Should Not Be is too close to Etraeus, they will both gain [Void Shift] .
Turn away from Things Which Should Not Be when they cast [Witness the Void] .

    Healers –
Players affected by [Coronal Ejection] suffer heavy damage over time.
[Fel Nova] and [Witness the Void] deal heavy raid damage.
[Voidburst] deals increasing damage over time.
Turn away from Things Which Should Not Be when they cast [Witness the Void] .

    Damage Dealers –
Move away from other players when afflicted by [Icy Ejection] to avoid damaging them with [Shatter] .
Avoid placing [Felflame] on other players when afflicted by [Fel Ejection] .
Turn away from Things Which Should Not Be when they cast [Witness the Void] .

    Strategy Summary

Tanks should swap duties whenever a tank becomes afflicted with Gravitational Pull

    During Phase 1:
    • Divide the raid into three groups; players in each group should stack loosely
    • When targeted by Icy Ejection, run out to the edge of the room to Shatter
    • Mark a spot for tanks to run to for Comet Impact
    • After Comet Impact, the tank should bring the Absolute Zero debuff to one of the three clumps of players to clear it
    • This will occur three times per Gravitational Pull debuff; the tank must use a different clump of players each time

    During Phase 2:
    • The raid should spread out in the middle of the room, staying away from the outer rim of the encounter area
    • Players targeted by Fel Ejection should run out to the edges to drop Felflame pools
    • Tanks should use Gravitational Pull/ Fel Impact to clear Felflame off the floor
    • Focus this on areas where the Felflame is encroaching upon the raid

    During Phase 3:
    • The raid should stack behind the boss for ease of healing and to keep Voidlings stacked up
    • Players affected by Void Ejection should use a defensive cooldown as it expires
    • Use stuns and AoE CC to keep Voidlings from dealing too much damage
    • The tank with Gravitational Pull should run to the side to spawn the Thing That Should Not Be
    • Tank the Thing That Should Not Be just outside the central blue circle
    • Use Bloodlust/ Heroism/ Time Warp to quickly defeat the Thing That Should Not Be
    • Turn away from the Thing That Should Not Be when its Witness the Void cast is nearly finished
    • Between the Thing That Should Not Be spawns, tanks should taunt after reaching around 6 stacks of Voidburst, to keep raid Voidburst damage light
    • Chain healing CDs once Voidburst spreads to most or all of the raid

High Botanist Tel'arn Nighthold Raid Strategy Guide

High Botanist Tel'arn is the third boss of the Royal Athenaeum wing of LFR.

High Botanist Tel'arn is available the week of January 17th on Normal and Heroic, January 24th on Mythic, and February 7th on LFR.

    Quick Tips

Overview – High Botanist Tel'arn uses Arcane, Nature, and Solar magic to defend his garden. When he reaches 75% and 50% health remaining he divides his energy, creating empowered forms that focus in a particular school of magic. This division removes High Botanist Tel'arn's access to that school of magic, but the empowered form gains new abilities.

    Damage Dealers –
Move away from targets of [Parasitic Fetter] and quickly kill Parasitic Lashers.
Damage [Plasma Spheres] so that they die at least 5 sec apart from one another to avoid lethal damage from [Plasma Explosion] .
Avoid [Controlled Chaos] and [Solar Collapse] .

    Tanks –
Take turns tanking Tel'arn to manage the application of [Recursive Strikes] .
Position Naturalist Tel'arn away from his allies and quickly move him out of [Grace of Nature] .
High Botanist Tel'arn splits into images that must be tanked at 75% and 50% health remaining.

    Healers –
[Plasma Explosion] inflicts significant damage to all players.
Dispel [Parasitic Fetter] when your allies have moved far enough away to avoid Parasitic Lashers.
[Controlled Chaos] inflicts moderate damage to all players with each explosion.

    Strategy Summary

    • Throughout the fight, the ranged DPS and healers should stay spread out to minimize the number of targets affected by Tel'arn's proximity mechanics
    • When there is more than one boss, tank them close together for cleave damage
    • Use Bloodlust/ Heroism/ Time Warp at the start of Phase 3, and be sure your DPS cooldowns are available
    • Tanks should swap High Botanist/Arcanist Tel'arn on 7 stacks of Recursive Strikes
    • Move out of Controlled Chaos and Solar Collapse areas
    • Dispel Parasitic Fetter, and stun/CC/quickly kill the Parasitic Lasher
    • During Phase 2 and 3, tank the bosses near a Plasma Sphere spawn point
    • Stagger the Plasma Sphere deaths so the Plasma Explosion debuff has time to expire between kills
    • During Phase 3, a player without Call of Night needs to stand on each player with Call of Night
    • Pull bosses out of Grace of Nature pools, and make sure that Grace of Nature doesn't spawn on the Plasma Sphere location
    • Move away from Toxic Spores, and use a player with immunities to clear them if they spawn too close to the raid

    Tank Responsibilities

    • Taunt-swap High Botanist Tel'arn/Arcanist Tel'arn at 7 stacks of Recursive Strikes
    • Use Active Mitigation and cooldowns while tanking with high stacks of Recursive Strikes
    • Move the boss(es) away from nearby Controlled Chaos or Solar Collapse areas
    • Once Solarist Tel'arn spawns, tanks should avoid being within 4 yards of one another to limit Flare damage
    • For the rest of the fight, tank the bosses near one of the Plasma Sphere spawn locations
    • During the final phase, keep the bosses close together
    • Use heavier cooldowns if tanking Arcanist and Naturalist at the same time
    • Begin moving the bosses away as soon as the Grace of Nature cast begins
    • Move away from Toxic Spores

    Damage-Dealer Responsibilities

    • Ranged DPS should stay spread out for the whole fight
    • Freely cleave and multi-DoT the bosses since their health pools are shared
    • When Parasitic Lashers spawn, stun or snare them, and kill them quickly
    • Kill the Plasma Sphere that spawns near the bosses quickly, and kill the second Plasma Sphere just as the first Sphere's Plasma Explosion debuff fades
    • Always let one Plasma Sphere detonate on its own - do not waste damage on it
    • Move out of Controlled Chaos and Solar Collapse areas
    • If targeted by Call of Night, pair up with an unaffected ally and stick together until the debuff wears off
    • If not affected by Call of Night, check to see if any nearby players have the debuff, and pair up with them
    • If targeted by Toxic Spores, move away from the Spores when they spawn

    Healer Responsibilities

    • This fight requires heavy tank healing; spec into strong single-target healing when possible
    • Tanks with high stacks of Recursive Strikes will need a lot of healer attention
    • Use minor CDs to recover from Controlled Chaos's raid damage
    • Use major CDs to recover from Plasma Explosion's raid damage
    • Dispel Parasitic Fetter, but check that no other players are standing too close before doing so
    • Players with the Parasitic Fetter or Toxic Spores debuff will require additional healing

Spellblade Aluriel Nighthold Raid Strategy Guide

This strategy guide covers how to defeat the Spellblade Aluriel boss encounter and notable trash on all difficulties. Spellblade Aluriel is usually the fourth boss of The Nighthold, and can be found patrolling the terrace gardens at the base of the Nightspire. She is the first boss of the Royal Athenaeum wing of LFR.

Spellblade Aluriel is available the week of January 17th on Normal and Heroic, January 24th on Mythic, and February 7th on LFR.

    Quick Tips

Overview – Spellblade Aluriel cycles between three enchantments: Frost, Fire, and Arcane. Each enchantment grants her an ability that she can only use while she's under the effect of that enchantment. She will then manipulate that magic with a few commands: replicate, detonate, and animate.

    Tanks –
When Aluriel performs [Annihilate] , gather together to share the damage.
Transfer [Mark of Frost] to an ally when its damage becomes excessive, but be mindful that each transfer triggers an explosion.
Quickly move away from the target of [Detonate: Arcane Orb] , which deals more damage the closer players are to the impact point.
Interrupt Fiery Enchantments when they cast [Pyroblast] , which deals critical damage to a target.

    Healers –
Transfer [Mark of Frost] to an ally when its damage becomes excessive, but be mindful that each transfer triggers an explosion.
Quickly move away from the target of [Detonate: Arcane Orb] , which deals more damage the closer players are to the impact point.

    Damage Dealers –
Kill Arcane Enchantments quickly to prevent them from triggering [Armageddon] .

    Strategy Summary

Tanks should stay in front of Aluriel and taunt on 2 stacks of Annihilated

    During Phase 1 (Frost):

    • Ranged DPS/healers should be spread out loosely behind Aluriel
    • Mark a location behind the raid for players with Mark of Frost to stand near
    • Players targeted by Mark of Frost should move near the marked locat1on, but be sure to stay more than 8 yards apart
    • Use defensive cooldowns to hold Mark of Frost as long as possible
    • When Frostbitten stacks are high, pass Mark of Frost by bumping into another player with Mark of Frost
    • Healers should use AoE healing and CDs to keep Mark of Frost targets alive
    • Move away from Pool of Frost areas after Detonate: Mark of Frost
    • Gather the Icy Enchantment adds and use AoE/cleave to kill them quickly

    During Phase 2 (Fire):

    • The raid (minus players still affected by Mark of Frost) should stack behind the boss
    • Players targeted with Searing Brand should move to one side of the boss, but do not stack
    • All other players should stay on the opposite side of the boss
    • Searing Brand targets should clump loosely to drop Burning Ground patches close together
    • Move away from Burning Ground once it forms
    • Gather the Fiery Enchantment adds and use AoE/cleave to kill them quickly

    During Phase 3 (Arcane):

    • Spread out for the first Arcane Orb spawn, and for Replicate: Arcane Orb
    • Move away from nearby Arcane Orbs
    • Clump in melee range when all Arcane Orbs have spawned
    • When Aluriel casts Detonate: Arcane Orb, the entire raid should move as a group away from each of the explosion sites
    • Healers should use raid CDs here
    • Stay away from the Arcane Fog that forms at each explosion site
    • Gather the Arcane Enchantment adds and use AoE/cleave to kill them quickly

Use Bloodlust/ Heroism/ Time Warp on the pull, unless a particular phase has been problematic for your raid

    Tank Responsibilities

    • Both tanks should be in front of Aluriel at all times
    • Taunt swap on 2 stacks of Annihilated
    • Keep Active Mitigation up while Annihilated and tanking, or for each Annihilate when not tanking
    • Avoid being close to players with Mark of Frost or Searing Brand debuffs
    • Drag Aluriel away from each Detonate: Arcane Orb location to reduce damage taken
    • Pull Aluriel away from ground effects ( Pool of Frost], Burning Ground, Arcane Fog)
    • Gather up the adds (Icy Enchantment, Fiery Enchantment, Arcane Enchantment) for AoE

    Damage-Dealer Responsibilities

Use burst AoE abilities and AoE CC to kill the Icy Enchantments, Fiery Enchantments, and Arcane Enchantments

    During Frost phase,
    • Move to the designated area if targeted by Mark of Frost
    • Use defensive cooldowns to survive higher stacks of Frostbitten
    • Run into another player with Mark of Frost when Frostbitten stacks are too high
    • Move away from the Mark of Frost area after you have transferred your debuff
    • Move out of Pool of Frost patches following Detonate: Mark of Frost

    During Fire phase,
    • Stack up behind Aluriel unless you are still holding Mark of Frost
    • If targeted by Searing Brand, move to Aluriel's side, opposite the rest of the raid
    • Spread out from other Searing Brand targets to avoid knocking each other back
    • After Detonate: Searing Brand, move back into the raid

    During Arcane phase,
    • Ranged DPS should spread out
    • Move away from Arcane Orbs as they spawn
    • Once all 8 have spawned, stack up on Aluriel
    • Move away from Detonate: Arcane Orb locations
    • Never stand in front of Aluriel, so you do not get affected by Annihilate

    Healer Responsibilities

    • Players with Mark of Frost and Searing Brand debuffs will require additional healing
    • Drop AoE effects on these players, and consider using cooldowns when the debuffs are on the maximum number of targets
    • Tanks will need targeted healing for each Annihilate cast, every 33-47 seconds
    • Use raid CDs during the Detonate: Arcane Orb sequence, and minor CDs when adds are alive

    Krosus Nighthold Raid Strategy Guide

This strategy guide covers how to defeat the Krosus boss encounter and notable trash on all difficulties. Krosus is found at the end of The Shattered Walkway, a broken bridge that stretches toward the Broken Shore from the Nighthold. The raid must pass through the base of the Nightspire and down the stairs beyond it to reach the bridge.

He is one of the five bosses in the Nighthold's main terrace that can be engaged in any order:
    • Spellblade Aluriel
    • Star Augur Etraeus (Astromancer's Rise/Eternal Observatory)
    • High Botanist Tel'arn (Shal'dorei Terrace)
    • Krosus (The Shattered Walkway)
    • Tichondrius (Captain's Quarters)

Many groups will fight Krosus as the seventh boss of the raid; while he is mechanically simple, he has a hard DPS check that may be made easier with gear from other fights. He is the first boss of the Nightspire wing of LFR.

Krosus is available the week of January 17th on Normal and Heroic, January 24th on Mythic, and February 21st on LFR.

    Quick Tips
Overview – Players encounter Krosus on a broken section of bridge. Over the course of the encounter, Krosus smashes sections of the bridge, forcing players to retreat into a dwindling space. If Krosus is not defeated in time, players will be left with no foothold, and will plunge into the sea and perish.

    Damage Dealers –
If afflicted with [Orb of Destruction] , move as far away from other players as possible.
Catch nearby [Burning Pitch] to prevent Burning Embers from being summoned.
Do not stand near tanks during [Slam].

    Healers –
If afflicted with [Orb of Destruction] , move as far away from other players as possible.
Catch nearby [Burning Pitch] to prevent Burning Embers from being summoned.
Do not stand near tanks during [Slam].

    Tanks –
Catch nearby [Burning Pitch] to prevent Burning Embers from being summoned.
Stand under Krosus' fists during [Slam] to absorb the force of the blow.

    Strategy Summary

    • Use Bloodlust/ Heroism/ Time Warp at the start of the encounter
    • Tanks should soak the first 2 Slams on each bridge segment
    • The entire raid must run past the fractured bridge segment for the third Slam to avoid dying
    • Melee DPS should soak nearby Burning Pitches, while the ranged DPS/healers soak distant ones
    • Interrupt, stun, and quickly kill any Burning Ember adds that spawn from unsoaked Burning Pitch
    • Dodge the Fel Beams by stepping to the safe side of the bridge
    • Players targeted by Orb of Destruction should run to the back of the bridge
    • On the final segment, the player with Orb of Destruction should run to a back corner, and the rest of the raid should stack on the opposite front corner
    • Optimize single-target damage on Krosus since the fight has a 6-minute hard "enrage"

    Tank Responsibilities
    • Swap tanking duties on 5-7 stacks of Searing Brand
    • One tank should stand in each Slam circle to reduce raid damage
    • Use Active Mitigation/cooldowns to reduce Slam damage
    • Do not soak the 3rd Slam on each bridge segment - run to the safe area so you are not killed when the bridge falls away
    • Be sure to leave one tank in melee range of Krosus at all times to avoid Isolated Rage - except during every 3rd Slam, of course
    • Move to the safe side of the bridge during Fel Beam
    • The off-tank can help soak Burning Pitch
    • Attack and stun/interrupt any Burning Embers in range

    Damage-Dealer Responsibilities
    • Optimize your spec for single-target DPS, as the fight has a hard "enrage"
    • Melee DPS must be sure to move out of the Slam circles
    • Move to the safe side of the bridge during Fel Beam
    • Melee DPS should soak nearby Burning Pitches, while ranged DPS should soak distant ones
    • Interrupt, stun, and quickly kill any Burning Ember adds that spawn from unsoaked Burning Pitches
    • If targeted by Orb of Destruction, use speed boosts to get to the back of the bridge
    • When Krosus begins casting the 3rd Slam on each bridge segment, run back to the safe portion of the bridge

    Healer Responsibilities
    • Tanks will need to be topped off when soaking Slam
    • The raid will take heavy damage from Slam, Orb of Destruction, and Burning Pitch
    • Use cooldowns to recover from any heavy-damage Slam or Orb of Destruction events, especially when the raid has less room to work with
    • Move to the safe side of the bridge during Fel Beam
    • Soak distant Burning Pitches to prevent Burning Embers from spawning
    • If targeted by Orb of Destruction, use speed boosts to get to the back of the bridge
    • When Krosus begins casting the 3rd Slam on each bridge segment, run back to the safe portion of the bridge

    Tichondrius Nighthold Raid Strategy Guide

This strategy guide covers how to defeat the Tichondrius boss encounter and notable trash on all difficulties. Tichondrius can be found in the Captain's Quarters, in the southwest portion of The Nighthold. He is one of the five bosses in the Nighthold's main terrace that can be engaged in any order:

    • Spellblade Aluriel
    • Star Augur Etraeus (Astromancer's Rise/Eternal Observatory)
    • High Botanist Tel'arn (Shal'dorei Terrace)
    • Krosus (The Shattered Walkway)
    • Tichondrius (Captain's Quarters)

Tichondrius is a mechanically complex fight with high DPS demands, and most raids will encounter him as the eighth boss of the Nighthold. He is the second boss of the Nightspire wing of LFR.

Tichondrius is available the week of January 17th on Normal and Heroic, January 24th on Mythic, and February 21st on LFR.

This boss also drops the Recipe: Fel Core Hound Harness recipe for a green corehound mount!

    Quick Tips

Overview – Tichondrius wields foul carrion magic, unleashing waves of chaos and pestilence to assault the raid.
As the fight progresses, Tichondrius periodically uses [Illusionary Night] to trap all players in an illusion, within which they may find some respite if they can endure his [Carrion Nightmare] assault for 30 sec.

    Damage Dealers –
    • Carefully position to avoid spreading [Carrion Plague] .
    • Quickly kill Phantasmal Bloodfangs and obtain [Essence of Night] while trapped in the [Illusionary Night] .
    • Coordinate [Brand of Argus] detonations to avoid lethal raidwide damage.

    Damage Dealers –
    • Carefully position to avoid spreading [Carrion Plague] .
    • Quickly kill Phantasmal Bloodfangs and obtain [Essence of Night] while trapped in the [Illusionary Night] .

    Healers –
    • Players with [Carrion Plague] take sustained damage until the debuff can fade during [Illusionary Night] .
    • Position for and quickly dispel [Burning Soul] .
    • Tanks suffer significant damage from Tichondrius' nightborne allies.

    Tanks –
    • Position nightborne and Legion minions outside of [Vampiric Aura] .
    • Avoid taking multiple stacks of [Feast of Blood] .

    Strategy Summary

    Suggested Phase 1 positioning:

    Name: $ (7).jpg
Views: 1002
Size: 91.4 KB

    • Before the fight begins, mark an area of the room for players with Carrion Plague to stand in
    • Also mark an area of the room for tanks to bring Tainted Blood adds to, at least 30 yards from Tichondrius

    During Phase 1:
    • Players who gain Carrion Plague should move to the designated area and spread out slightly
    • Players without Carrion Plague should avoid this area ... like the plague
    • Healers should top up Carrion Plague targets in advance of Seeker Swarm
    • Tanks should swap tanking duties on each Feast of Blood cast
    • Use AoE stuns on the Tainted Bloods as they spawn, and the Feast of Blood tank should run to the designated Tainted Blood location during the stun
    • All DPS should switch to the Tainted Bloods and use high-damage AoE to quickly defeat them
    • Ranged DPS should finish off the Tainted Bloods as they chase the tank
    • During Echoes of the Void, all players should hide behind Fel Spires
    • During the second and third Phase 1, quickly kill the Felsworn Spellguards, and move away from others with Volatile Wound
    • During the third Phase 1, prioritize Sightless Watchers, and healers should spread out and dispel themselves immediately
    • Use Bloodlust/ Heroism/ Time Warp during the third Phase 1

    During Phase 2:
    • Avoid Carrion Nightmare by stepping out of the telegraphed zone quickly
    • Kill as many Phantasmal Bloodfangs as possible
    • All players should try to obtain the Essence of Night buff from the orbs dropped by dead Bloodfangs
    • Make sure that healers and strong DPS get the buff

    Tank Responsibilities
    • Tank Tichondrius where he stands
    • Taunt swap on each Feast of Blood debuff
    • The Feast of Blood tank should run away to the marked location so Tainted Bloods do not heal
    • Use Active Mitigation or cooldowns to withstand the Tainted Bloods' melee damage
    • Hide behind a Fel Spire during Echoes of the Void
    • Never stand in between the boss and players with Carrion Plague
    • During Phase 2, group up the Phantasmal Bloodfangs so they can be easily killed
    • Step out of Carrion Nightmare areas
    • Only take an Essence of Night buff once all the priority players have one
    • The off-tank should pick up the Felsworn Spellguards and Sightless Watcher adds that come from the back of the room in subsequent Phase 1 phases

    Damage-Dealer Responsibilities
    • Be attentive to Carrion Plague; if you get it, run to the designated Carrion Plague area
    • Otherwise, do not stand in the Carrion Plague area at all, so you are not struck by Seeker Swarm
    • When Tainted Blood spawns, use AoE stuns and burst AoE damage to quickly kill them
    • Hide behind a Fel Spire during Echoes of the Void
    • During Phase 2, kill as many Phantasmal Bloodfangs as possible
    • Step out of Carrion Nightmare areas
    • Take an Essence of Night buff when available
    • Prioritize killing Sightless Watchers and Felsworn Spellguards during subsequent Phase 1 phases
    • Move away from the raid as Volatile Wound is about to expire, so your Nether Zone is out of the way

    Healer Responsibilities
    • Tank healing will be heavy during Feast of Blood/Tainted Blood
    • Raid healing will be heavier when more players are affected by Carrion Plague, at the end of the phase
    • Use cooldowns at the start of Echoes of the Void while the raid gets into position
    • Use extra cooldowns during Illusionary Night to heal through lingering Carrion Plague and Carrion Nightmare damage
    • Be attentive to Carrion Plague; if you get it, run to the designated Carrion Plague area
    • Otherwise, do not stand in the Carrion Plague area at all, so you are not struck by Seeker Swarm
    • Hide behind a Fel Spire during Echoes of the Void
    • Step out of Carrion Nightmare areas
    • Take an Essence of Night buff when available
    • During subsequent Phase 1 phases, move away from the raid as Volatile Wound is about to expire, so your Nether Zone is out of the way
    • During the final Phase 1, stay spread out so you can instantly dispel Burning Soul from yourself

    Elisande Nighthold Raid Strategy Guide

This strategy guide covers how to defeat the Grand Magistrix Elisande boss encounter and notable trash on all difficulties. Grand Magistrix Elisande is the 9th boss of The Nighthold, and can only be accessed after players have defeated all of the previous bosses. She is located at the top of the Nightspire, initially floating in the Nightwell. She is the final boss of the Nightspire wing of LFR.

Elisande is available the week of January 17th on Normal and Heroic, January 24th on Mythic, and February 21st on LFR.

    Quick Tips
    - Grand Magistrix Elisande harness the power of the Nightwell to shape time itself. When her health is low and she is nearing defeat, she rewinds time to send players back to the point at which they first engaged her. The fight recommences from this point, but Elisande uses new abilities mixed in with echoes of her past actions. She can perform this feat twice, after which time can no longer save her.

    Damage Dealers –
[Epocheric Orb] damages the entire raid if allowed to strike the ground.
Expedient Elementals continually damage the raid with [Exothermic Release] until they are dispatched. This damage increases with each successful cast.
Recursive Elementals [Shield] Grand Magistrix Elisande from damage as long as they are alive.

    Healers –
[Epocheric Orb] damages the entire raid if allowed to strike the ground.
[Conflexive Burst] 's duration can be manipulated by using time zones.

    Tanks –
In each time layer, Elisande employs a different ability to threaten tanks.
[Ablating Explosion] inflicts falloff damage to the entire raid when it expires.
    Interrupt [Ablative Pulse] .

Temporalisis – The caster freezes enemy players in time for 4 sec.

Cascadent Star – The caster hurls an orb of cosmic energy at the target that inflicts 462500 to 537500 Arcane damage on impact, then strikes out at additional targets for 390600 to 453600 Arcane damage. The number of additional targets decreases as the caster's energy depletes.

    Strategy Summary

    • Use Bloodlust/ Heroism/ Time Warp twice if possible (start of Phase 1 and end of Phase 3), or otherwise at the start of Phase 1, or at the start of Phase 3
    • The kill order in the fight should be:

    1. Recursive Elemental
    2. Expedient Elemental
    3. Elisande

    • Kill the Expedient and Recursive Elementals close to each other, or close to existing Fast Time/ Slow Time zones, to make Arcanetic Ring dodging easier
    • Tanks must pick up the Expedient Elementals, but may leave the Recursive Elementals untanked
    • Assign ranged DPS to attack the Recursive Elemental as soon as it spawns, and put melee DPS on the Expedient Elemental
    • Use the gaps created by the Slow Time/ Fast Time bubbles to dodge the Arcanetic Rings
    • Players should soak Spanning Singularity pools with a defensive cooldown active
    • Players targeted by Delphuric Beam should run closer to Elisande and avoid stacking on other players
    • Assign players to quadrants of the room to soak each Epocheric Orb
    • When Conflexive Burst is cast, send one target to a Fast Time zone and another target to a Slow Time zone so they do not all detonate at once
    • Healers should use cooldowns to recover from heavy raid damage in Phases 1 and 2, and rotate them during Phase 3

    Tank Responsibilities

    • Watch for Time Elemental spawn points
    • The Expedient Elemental must be tanked, and should not be tanked by the Elisande tank
    • Move the enemies so they are close together for cleave damage, and so that Slow Time/ Fast Time zones will spawn adjacent to one another, but not overlapping

      During Phase 1:
    • Taunt-swap on 4 stacks of Ablation, or after an Expedient Elemental dies
    • Pull Elisande away from nearby Spanning Singularity pools to protect the melee DPS
    • Dodge the Arcanetic Rings through the gap created by the Slow Time/Fast Time zones

      During Phase 2:
    • Taunt-swap when the current tank becomes afflicted with Ablating Explosion
    • The Ablating Explosion tank should run away as the debuff expires
    • Move Elisande away from nearby Spanning Singularity pools
    • Do not move Elisande during Delphuric Beam, so that players are not surprised by sudden changes in the indicating arrows' direction

      During Phase 3:
    • Position Elisande away from her Arcanetic Ring echoes so players have time to dodge
    • Interrupt Elisande's Ablative Pulse casts, and taunt-swap if she successfully casts it
    • Move Elisande away from nearby Spanning Singularity pools

    Damage-Dealer Responsibilities

    • Interrupt the Recursive Elemental's Blast and the Expedient Elemental's Exothermic Release casts
    • Always prioritize the Elementals over Elisande
    • Soak Spanning Singularity pools if you have a defensive cooldown available
    • Dodge Arcanetic Rings by running through the gaps created when they pass through the Slow Time/ Fast Time zones
    • Use the Fast Time debuff as a DPS boost
    • If targeted by Delphuric Beam, move close to Elisande and do not stack on other players
    • When Epocheric Orbs spawn, look for a nearby impact location and stand in it
    • If targeted by Conflexive Burst, call out whether you will use the Slow Time/ Fast Time debuff or let it expire naturally
    • If targeted by Permeliative Torment, avoid gaining the Fast Time debuff

    Healer Responsibilities

    • Chain CDs in Phase 3; the large number of Echoes makes it hectic
    • Arcanetic Rings, unsoaked Epocheric Orbs, and Conflexive Burst will all deal high raid damage and may require cooldowns
    • Players affected by Spanning Singularity, Delphuric Beam, and Permeliative Torment debuffs will require additional healing
    • Be sure to top off the tank with Ablating Explosion before the debuff detonates
    • Soak Spanning Singularity pools if you have a defensive cooldown available
    • Dodge Arcanetic Rings by running through the gaps created when they pass through the Slow Time/ Fast Time zones

    Gul'dan Nighthold Raid Strategy Guide

This strategy guide covers how to defeat the Gul'dan boss encounter and notable trash on all difficulties. Gul'dan is the 10th and final boss of The Nighthold, and can only be accessed after players have defeated all of the previous bosses. He is the only boss of the Betrayer's Rise wing on LFR.

Gul'dan is available the week of January 17th on Normal and Heroic, January 24th on Mythic, and March 7th on LFR.

Players who have completed Insurrection are given the follow up quest The Nighthold: Lord of the Shadow Council which rewards Headpiece of the Shadow Council - a hefty amount of Artifact Power. The follow up quest The Eye of Aman'thul will reward you with the 30 minute self-res Gaze of Aman'thul.

For the Balance of Power questline, you will need to kill Gul'dan for The Nighthold: Darkness Calls after completing Into the Nighthold and The Nighthold: Delusions of Grandeur.

    Quick Tips
Overview – Gul'dan begins a ritual to bring his master into Azeroth, locking himself inside the active Eye of Aman'Thul and summoning his demonic lieutenants. However, proximity to the active Eye of Aman'Thul bestows equally powerful abilities to players, based on their role.

After his lieutenants fall, Gul'dan leaps into the fray himself, harnessing the power of the Fel to bolster his frail frame. At 85%, 70%, and 55% health, Gul'dan again taps into the active Eye of Aman'Thul, empowering his abilities.

As his health dwindles further, Gul'dan beseeches his Legion masters for additional power, unleashing his ultimate strength while disrupting the aid that players receive from the Eye.

    Damage Dealers
Use [Time Dilation] to increase damage at opportune moments or cover distances quickly.
Assist [Bonds of Fel] -afflicted allies in order to reduce the damage to manageable levels.
Move away from others when afflicted with [Eye of Gul'dan] or [Empowered Eye of Gul'dan] .
Absorb [Soul Corrosion] inside the [Well of Souls] in order to reduce raidwide damage taken from [Black Harvest] .

    Healers
Use [Scattering Field] to absorb nearby allies' Fire damage taken at opportune moments.
Coordinate use of damage-reduction abilities to help tanks with Fel Lord Kuraz'mal's [Shatter Essence] .
    Dispel Inquisitor Vethriz's [Drain] .
[Black Harvest] inflicts high raidwide damage.

    Tanks
Use [Resonant Barrier] to survive moments in the encounter that may otherwise kill you.
While fighting Fel Lord Kuraz'mal, be prepared for [Shatter Essence] .
D'zorykx the Trapper will throw [Soul Vortex] at his current target, drastically increasing their damage taken.

    Strategy Summary

    Phase 1
    • Avoid standing within Gul'dans Fel Efflux and Hand of Gul'dan.
    • Ranged players should stack up whilst healers use Scattering Field to mitigate the damage of Liquid Hellfire
    • Tanks must take turns using Resonant Barrier on each Shatter Essence cast from Fel Lord Kuraz'mal.
    • Tanks should move away from the group when Soul Vortex is cast on them, thus reducing the chance of extra players gaining stacks of Torn Soul. Players should move away from the cage.
    • The entire raid should stick to one side of the room whilst Inquisitor Vethriz is active. This will keep the other side of the room clear of his Gaze of Vethriz eye beams.
    • Damage dealers should save cooldowns and Time Dilation for when Inquisitor Vethriz spawns. This will reduce the amount of Gaze of Vethriz eye beams in the encounter area.
    • Healers dispel Drain as quickly as possible to reduce the healing Inquisitor Vethriz receives (Heroic Only)
    • Move from the rumbling Fel Obelisk patches and the green Anguished Spirits patches (Heroic Only)

    Phase 2
    • Tanks stack on top of one another every 11-12 seconds to trigger Gul'dans Fel Scythe at the lowest possible damage, whilst allowing his attack speed buff to drop.
    • Ranged players should stack 10 yards behind the Gul'dan so that the ranged Bonds of Fel targets can move to break their bonds into melee. Whilst the melee Bonds of Fel targets break into ranged.
    • Tanks should taunt switch when the Bonds of Fel are applied, to allow the main tank to break his bonds into melee without triggering Fel Scythe.
    • Eyes of Gul’dan should be swapped to and killed off as soon as possible, preferably with players using Time Dilation. Players targeted by their beams should move 8 yards away from any other player.
    • Gul'dan should be tanked in the middle of the room, to allow players targeted by Empowered Bonds of Fel to remain on the platform after being knocked back.
    • Players should run over to targets affected by the Empowered Bonds of Fel so that they can break their bonds without taking lethal damage, whilst the tank breaks their bonds solo by using large damage reduction cooldowns.
    • Ranged players should be stacked up away from Gul'dan for the Liquid Hellfire, whilst healers continue to use Scattering Field to mitigate the damage it deals.
    • Ranged players should stay close to previous Empowered Liquid Hellfire patches to help keep the encounter area clean.
    • Tanks should make sure to maintain threat on the Empowered Eye of Gul'dan as the DPS nuke it down.
    • Players need to move from the Hand of Gul'dan and Damage dealers should kill off the Dreadlord it spawns as soon as possible whilst interrupting its Carrion Wave. (Heroic Only)

    Phase 3
    • Be next to Gul'dan at the beginning of the phase, and run against the winds that try and push you off the platform.
    • Tanks want to position Gul'dan on one side of the room, whilst they stack of one another every 11-12 seconds to trigger Fel Scythe at the lowest possible damage, whilst allowing his attack speed buff to drop.
    • Ranged players want to be spread evenly on both sides of the room in larger raid sizes, or on one side of the room in smaller raid sizes.
    • DPS need to be kill off the Empowered Eye of Gul'dan whilst the ranged players are spread 8 yards to avoid splashing damage onto one another.
    • Players afflicted with Flames of Sargeras need to run away from the group to place the patches of Desolate Ground away from anyone else.
    • The Flames of Sargeras should be stacked on top of one another as much as possible, to increase the space the raid gets to work with.
    • Healers need to heal up players with Soul Siphon to allow those players to receive healing during large raid wide damage.
    • Ranged players need to remove the souls in the Well of Souls by standing within it, this will reduce the damage taken by Black Harvest to survivable levels.
    • When Black Harvest is cast, healers need to use healing cooldowns.
