    I have started to get more into crafting, over just buying and upgrading items.

    Currently I am working on making some beam arrays, and was told the best stats to go for are Crtd x 4 or CrtD x 3 [PEN]. Are these two on par, or should I be favoring one over the other?

    I know when crafting they will start as CrtD x 3 and Crtd x 2 [Pen], at a certain point during upgrading, should I stop if I dont get that additional Crtd, or will it eventually appear if upgraded enough?

    [CrtD]x3[Pen] is better than [CrtD]x4. The difference isn't huge, but it's better. Note that this only applies for non-Tactical captains. Tactical captains want [Dam]x3[Pen] or [Dam]x4, in that order.

    The optimal crafting strategy is to craft at Mk II because it's cheap and you'll go through lots of iterations before producing [CrtD]x2[Pen] or [CrtD]x3.

    Then you apply an Omega upgrade kit with an x2 Research Booster to that Mk II, which will take it all the way to Mk VII (or thereabouts) while maintaining a 60% upgrade chance (because upgrade chance doesn't reset until you run out of TP and have to apply a new kit). That's practically guaranteed to bring it to UR, and very likely make it Epic.

    Mods that are already on the weapon won't change. If it doesn't pick up [CrtD] (or [Dam] if making [Dam]x3[Pen]) when it goes to UR then you discard it (on the Exchange, probably).

    If you don't have Omega kits, use Experimental Superior kits, which brings the chance (with the Research Booster) to 40% instead of 60%. Same principles apply.

    I was wondering if I should put it on hold for now, Guess I will wait a couple weeks for the dps gurus to determine the new gold standard.
