    hopped on tribble earlier, compared my science builds numbers with the changes, and theres barely a difference, as for sub nuc beam being moved, I hardly used it anyway against anything other than players, because things just die so fast these days. this may not be all that bad

    Can you explain why? I'm reading into building for quite some time but still feel like an absolutely beginner (my main is an engineer).
    Eh it really depends. I'm not most knowledgeable myself but I have this character (Engineer) since beta. I don't reach the top DPS numbers, but I do enough really. Basically, Engineer, speced for Damage. It works for me. It's gone through alot of changes through the years as STO introduced changes, from Aux2Bat builds to currently EP2W build. I do find using dreadnought/Carrier definitely increase my DPS alot though. And since its an Engineer, survival is never a problem.

    On other hand, my Tactical KDF is pretty much killing everything much faster with Pilot Raptor. Sorta Glass cannon'ish too.

    Reading the notes above, I don't think Eng is hence being nerfed or anything. And with boost to carrier pets, it'll only get better!

    I don't mind most of the changes even if they're detrimental to my existing build, but I'm absolutely not a fan of nerfing the Embassy plasma consoles to oblivion.

    Nerf to make the other Science consoles competitive, sure.
    But folks testing on Tribble reported a drop of over 90% of their damage.
    Nerf to make them worthless, that's terrible.

    At least I'll have some use for my excess upgrade kits, I guess.

But if the choice is between nerfing the hell out of them or having every conversation about Science console slots begin and end with "Plasma Consoles, all the slots, all the time," well screw that, give them their nerfbat and let them go full Negan.     I'm pleased to see subsystem targeting becoming useful. It always seemed quite a redundant "perk" of science vessels. Unfortunately my science captain flies torp boats, so it's still not very useful for him!

    The massive destruction of the plasma science consoles is sad to see, though not entirely unexpected. My biggest question right now is what should I replace those with?

    I've seen rumblings that Plasmonic Leech may not be so useful anymore. Do people with a better understanding of all this than me think it's worth keeping?

    Given that my two mains are Engis, this may overall be good news! That power bonus power they have that I've never bothered to use actually looks useful now! And I assume flying in and hitting Tac Team, BFAW and EPTW will still be reasonably effective?

    Use Subsystem Targeting on Shields and than use your Torps you will see it will do a lot better when your target has no shields.

    In it's current form on Tribble, dump it it has become worthless.

    The Tank Meta has not changed with those updates.

    True or not, I'd rather explain the change so he's got an understanding of what changed, as opposed to just saying "Yes" or "No". Personally, I can probably still find some use for it in some contexts. It might not be an auto-slot, but maybe the fewer things of that nature that exist, the better.

    The math behind it is simple:

    Holodeck: -2.2/+2.2 Drain/Boost. stacks up to 10 times = +22 to power levels, big huge awesome
    Tribble : -1.1/+.75 Drain/Boost stacks up to 8 times = +6 to power levels, this is not noticable at all
