This increased XP thing is pretty awesome. My XP bar says I am gaining XP at 250% I went from level 38 to 40 by doing one story mission and two side missions.

Anyway, now seems like a good time to explore other character types since I can level them quickly and get a good feel for them. I already have a Jedi Shadow. What would you suggest next? I don't know if I would be interested in another Force user unless it was Sith. A shooty character might be interesting. I'm planning a pair of sisters for my Legacy, so something that would lend itself to that ... if it even matters at all what the characters in the family tree actually are.

Also, is unlocking a species beneficial in any way, or is it just cosmetic? I don't remember that being mentioned anywhere.

Lastly, how do armors from the Cartel shop compare to other in-game gear? Is it quality stuff like STO's Zen ships, or is it mostly space Barbie?

Species are cosmetic, although there are some that will impact what kind of gear you can wear (for cosmetic effect, you still get the stat bonus) like Twi'Lek and Togruta can't display most head items and most of the Sith pureblood facial options clip with head items.

For something that you can level quickly, I suggest picking a Jedi Guardian/Sith Juggernaut, and level as a tank. You will basically be invincible, both have a simple rotation. I suggest playing a Light Side Sith Warrior though, the story is just better when you play lightside.

The Jedi Sage/Sith Sorcerer are easy for caster classes if you like that sort of thing, but the rotation can be very repetitive early on in the game, with only slight changes at the later game.

I have the most fun playing as my Commando Trooper. Although throwing lightning as a Sith Sorcerer is always fun Smile

With the XP bonus currently on, you can run through the first couple of planets in a short time. This will give you a feel for how your class will continue to play. If you don't like one class then start another.

As far as I know, your Legacy Family Tree is irrelevant beyond role playing. I think it once had a use but is just cosmetic now.
