I said I needed some time to do some research before giving him a quote.

Before I get to researching them I get a mail from Complaints Departments exec.

Due to the fact that one of our blues was involved I bit my tounge and kept quiet about this.. until now.
I'm not sure if that was Tora, but I dont think it was.. even so.. this changed my views of my peers drasticly.

Merc corp hears about someone wanting to hire mercs to attack their alt corp, other merc corps talk with them to split money and milk the client. So, they get money for not actually honouring the agreement, I think that's pretty much it.

I just find it interesting on how many merc alliances are fighting with each other.

It seems they were all in good standings with each others until recently when Marmites decided to dismantle PIRATE. Apparently Marmites and Warriors are allies and so are Vendetta, PIRATE and Public Enemy and this drew bad blood between two groups.

And while this saga continues, FETISH is being successfully dismantled. Seven corporations left FETISH in May, leaving two only in the alliance. Redstar Inc, FETISH executor corp led by Diokahn (guy who had a beef with Warriors), lost 21 members in May and is down to 9. Also, they have no kills since May 21st.

One more fun fact is that IKR has joined Devilbear in the war against 'Mining is funn', which should make Dodixie safer for us too.

If you go up the food chain a notch or two, to the leadership of alliances, they are often architecting wars and conflicts to give their pilots something to do. Unlike purely PvE games, in EVE it's the players that generate the most interesting content - even if you're not in a shooting war. The dialogue above stops short of that, but there are perhaps intimations of it behind the scenes.

On a more visceral note, the other item I tend to recoil from is the willingness to outright screw over someone who's supposed to be your client/ally. It's always been a part of EVE, but not part of my personal play style.
