LARGE ADDRESS AWARE (LAA) SETUP
Since the release of the last version of Star Trek Armada 3: the Final Frontier you shouldn't have to force expand the amount of memory allocated to the game by using Large Address Aware, as you had to do in previous versions.
But if you're experiencing problems with STA 3 and you suspect they're memory related, you could still give LAA a try.
With previous versions of STA 3 the game could only use 2 GB of RAM by default at any one time. Due to the high quality assets and textures in STA 3 mod this limit was reached quite easily and caused crashes! If memory problems still persist you could try a little program included along with the mod called "Large Address Aware" Just follow the instructions below to use LAA on your STA 3 setup.
Click on the small button with "..." on the right
The following box will appear: Find you Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion .EXE file! Located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion for steam users and hit open.
Back in the same window as Step 1 be sure to tick the little box located under "Step 2: Large Address Aware Flag" and then hit the big "Save" button!
If you've run LAA and you're still experiencing problems with STA 3, please feel free to contact a Tactical officer.
