I guess one way to look at it is from the point of view of history.

Take improved sanitary conditions in cities in Europe, that only really happened in the last 100-150 years or so. That was essentially a huge step forwards in terms of how "fit" people in those societies were compared to other less well off places.
Did that affect the western cultures to then go and destroy the weaker populations, hmm that's a tricky one to answer. We've had our fair share of wars in that 100 year period, were they really the result of Western civilization being better than the rest of the world? I'd say no, because the better off places fought each other just as much as they invaded the less fortunate places.

And even today we don't look at tribes of natives in Africa or S. America and think we must destroy them or remove them from the gene pool do we, yet they are in a similar situation compared to our western civilized selves.

Is that really an accurate historical comparison, comparing DNA-edits in embryos to improved sanitary conditions in Europe? I think that's more like apples to orange trees haha

If I get your thinking, I don't think we'd be going after the "natives" as much as the "natives" going after those with the DNA-editing choices. There may be a division between those who can have their DNA edited and those who can't, which some may rise up due to the unfairness of that.

Yeah it wasn't a perfect example i'll admit. I was just trying to think of something that would affect human survival and "fitness" to the same extent that genetic modifications potentially could.

Nothing we've seen so far in history compares to a "master race," except Hitler's insanity.

There's tons of improvements that only privileged people have had access to throughout history, yet this is life-changing from conception, literally.

I think the better comparison, historically, would be any healthcare/medical debates, where the wealthy have easier access than others. That's where you see people stand up and protest or fight. I imagine that being amplified with it being DNA-editing.
