I really liked how this episode tied into our own human history as a whole.
At the same time, what are the odds that Chakotay runs into his ancient ancestors? haha How many Rubber Tree People would be in Starfleet, let alone one being sent to the Delta Quadrant who accidentally runs into the very aliens who contacted the original descendants of Native Americans?
Also, we found the oldest pottery storage/cooking vessels from China from 20,000 years ago and the first colonization of North America by Native ancestors was around 16,500–13,000 years ago. In the episode, the Ancient Sky Spirit aliens visited Earth, along with other Sky Spirits approximately 45,000 years ago. At that time, Cro-Magnon was barely beginning to colonize Europe haha
I hope something similar did happen in our human history, though.
