Hello everyone,
I have been noticing a decline in the attendance of events (maybe it is just the time I hold them?) And I have been searching for a conclustion, and I have come to this, I believe that STO players in UFPlanets might not feel the need or desire to run regular PvE events (be it STFs or Story).
What if we held a regular PvP event? It could be a weekly thing if enough people are interested? Either way, frequency isn't the real issue here.
I think that PvP Events would benefit the whole community in two ways:
1) It would help to knit us together and help us socialize!
2) It would be so, so much fun to have PvP with the whole UFP armada, the potential is limitless!
Just let me know what you think in the comments, I am really excited to discuss this.
Edit: Oh! And thank you so much for your time (even if you're just reading.)

I like PvP in general (not just STO) and depending on day\time\timezone I'd be very interested. We used to have regular PvP Friday's and they were a lot of fun, imho much more than running PvE queues, but with 'DPS rulez' devs approach they kinda broke PvP. I'm not sure what is it's current state but with imposing some limitations to op skills I assume it could be doable.

We have held an event called the Khitomer games (PvP Feds against Klingons) in the past and this is something I am looking to revive in the near future. I have already touched base with its creator chase, look for a Khitomer games event to come up soon
As for PvE events the attendance during the summer always seems to fall, when the mid season updates hits holodeck and the Summer holidays end we will most likely see an increased attendance.

I really would like to get more into PvP in STO, but it seems that you need a big purse to create a competitive build for it. On the other hand, grouping a UFP team sounds like a great idea and I agree that it is a good way of "knit us together" and socialize. So far I wasn't aware that there are regular PvP players in our community at all, so I am curious about if there is some potential for it.

The Khitomer Games were great fun last time. Glad to hear you are planning to revive them. Especially, the format was very balanced and fun for beginners (I was then) and veterans - at least that was my impression.

I tend to disagree with your conclusion. In my opinion, the UFP definitely needs regular PvE events. And while I was not able to attend the idea to play Story during events was a good idea, too.
Unfortunately, speaking for myself I did not attend many events recently because I didn't have the time during scheduled event time. But the spontaneous PUGs I did together with some UFP members in the past were all very enjoyable and increased my desire to attend more regular PvE events in the future.

I have thought of the whole balancing things as well, I am not sure how to do it just yet, but I am exploring some options on this. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated in this regard. We all have our own DPS brackets, (mind you I am maybe doing 40K on a good run.)

Does PvP in STO have to be FED vs. KDF? I am looking forward to more about this! By all means keep me in touch with this! Especially after the major rebalance that just happened.
My PvE events have had pretty much no-one actually show up for the last month or so, but that could be partly due to my own crazy time-schedule on when I can hold them.

I am not really certain how many players are interested, but it seems like there could be a good bit. Especially if we reach out to the armada. I have never ran a single instant of PvP myself, so I look forward to it.

How did the 'ad-hoc' events run? What is the preferred timetables of doing so? We are always looking for people to run with, honestly they're great fun. (but I don't need to tell you that haha)
While I do feel that STO is on the decline, UFPlanets as a whole really isn't. The boards for other of our games seems quite active.
Do you think we should follow a balancing based on the DPS league results or based on our own? I will be looking into the past Khitomer games for (hopefully) some ideas.
Thank you all again, if anyone has anything else to add, I am all ears.
