Hey all,
Just a quick note to say I will hopefully be returning to STO on the PC. Its been at least 2/3 years since I last played on here.
I have been playing STO on my PS4 but It never did feel the same! I have now finally installed a Windows OS on my MacBook and am just in the middle of downloading the game. My fingers are crossed that it works.
As I have not used this character in a long time, I'm guessing it will take me a while to get back up to the level in which I can be of any help in game.
Hope to see you all ingame soon.

Hello and welcome back! I also took a 1.5ish year break (PC died hard, money tight kinda thing). I've been back about 1.5 months myself and it's been like remembering to ride a bike. Some basics were easy to remember because they didn't change much. for other things I had to put the training wheels back on by making time to go back and read Read READ.
If I have any humble advice to provide, it is to do that: read. Go to the official site and catch up on patch notes from about when you left. Just those to start. Then sites like this and Reddit to sort of read up on current meta and playstyles.
Jump in and get hands dirty in the game of course! 
The biggest concern I had was in the skill tree as that took a major revision in the time we've been away. A little homework will let you make some good choices (and you should have at least one repec after that). Maybe copy a skill build until you settle on what you really want?

Got it working Played my first mission and loved it! Good to see Geordie La Forge... Well I will need to just have a few games and see whats changed, good thing is I'm still a member of the fleet in game and look forward to playing some missions alongside you all.
