Can we have multiplayer Tetris?
Rally your fellow community members, help us find someone willing to run the events, and we’ll run anything people want.
Have no idea who is running what or how well they are doing it. Getting no communication what so ever.
Sounds like you need to visit the website more than once every three months if you really have no idea about any of the departments or divisions. We even had an open joint session meeting (where the heads of all the departments and divisions get together to discuss what's going on) last weekend, which anyone was welcome to attend if they really wanted to be in the know.
Not many events in EVE which is the only game I play. But that's understandable as there's not much of a player base. I'd offer to try and run some events but the 'officer'/'clearance level' system makes it sound very official.
I’ll freely admit that my own interest in EVE has dropped off. Luckily there are others who are still handling EVE, particularly Sammy, Three, and Adster, and I’m extremely grateful to them.
That being said, the Clearance system isn’t really as complicated as some people think. Really it’s just levels of website access, and ranks are pretty much cosmetic.
Very strong in some areas. Other areas not so much. I do not count that against the division, as it is expected with such a large and diverse community. I chalk it up to herding cats. Not everyone is going to be interested in the same games. Unlike before with STO being a strong 'bonding-agent' for the community, I don't see any current Holodeck game being something like STO that brought the majority of the community together. I guess that is something to hope and work towards when looking at a new game that comes out. To find a new activity that this great community can back and play together again as a majority.
I think that’s an excellent point, part of the problem with Holodeck is it’s eclectic mix of games is that there isn’t something universal to rally around. It’s part of the structure of Holodeck itself, and I’m not sure it’s something we can work around, but we’ll try.
While it is an on going effort, more time slots for North American players.
Okay, I’ll probably regret saying this, but here’s the deal. If you aren’t part of the solution, you’re part of the problem. At present I am the only member of Holodeck staff from North America. I have maybe 3 hours of playtime available every weekday. I don’t play every game, and won’t play every game. If it’s something a lot of people want, I’ll run it myself, if it’s a smaller group, then someone needs to step up, otherwise step off.
I strongly approve of the SF-HOLO's recent efforts. I would encourage a try at console gaming as well.
I’m glad to hear someone say that. Pushing consoles is always a tricky thing. Some people may recall our attempts at running events in The Division. That started out fairly strongly, but quickly tapered off as people moved on to different games. I think it’s fair to say that console gaming is an area that UFP struggles with, and not just Holodeck. One can look at the recent happenings with the console STO fleets and see the same sort of thing. I know it's something people will keep asking for, and it’s something we’ll keep experimenting with, but it’s going to take time and a lot of false starts before we get it right.
I have just joined the site. My next survey will be more informative.
Not had a chance to do much with them yet, but I hope to in the near future.
Please let us know what you think at the next Roll Call!
Sammy & Noram do an excellent job.
Events are regular and are usually well-attended despite the decline in activity over the Summer.
It’s always nice to get nice feedback. Most of the credit goes to the Holodeck staff however!
