    Yeah but the general attitude Starfleet has to using force means they probably assume it would have turned out the same if she had been successful. They are a bit myopic when it comes to their values and what they assume of others' values.

    If they would have destroyed his ship before the other 24 House would have arrived he would have not united them against the Federation at it seemed that the Leader of the Council could not stand him so he probably didn't care that he was killed by a Federation Ship.
