Retrofitting old ships with new seating (ala Excelsior -> Resolute) would be very good, if this round they didn't change the look of the ship (ala Excelsior -> Resolute).

That ship is a nice evolution of the Sovereign apart from the horrendous nacelles it's been given. The Reliant Class suffers the same problem, real nice modern version of a classic look ruined with some daft fat-curvy nacelles that look totally out of place.

Yeah, looks like whoever's in charge loves their nacelles. Almost as bad as the obsession with the horrendously ugly forward-swept delta shapes a while back - which look fine if it's an actual forward delta like Romulan ships, but not when your giant arse of a hull is stick out between Starfleet nacelles.

Oh, to be sure, they''re both pretty awful. But I hate the JJ-prise more than the J, and I feel that both of them are worse offenders than the Archon.

Honestly, I remember looking over the Archon when it came out, and those nacelles aren't so much fat, as they are oddly tall. If you look at the Archon from the bow or stern, her nacelles actually look kind of flat, IIRC.

Yeah they are way too tall, she sure does have "ample nacelles" if you'll pardon the engineering parlance!
I'm also not really a fan on the glowy-gemstone bussard collectors some of the newer ships get stuck with. The Archon is a prime example and the Engineering CBC too. They look really odd and ruin the look of many engine parts.

Having said all that the Archon has a spectacular looking deflector array, i wish more ships had parts that look that good.

Yeah, that's a look that, when it works, great, but when it doesn't, watch out. I think it works pretty well on a few of the KDF ships (like the Vet Destroyer and the Mogh), but I can see it looking out of place on the Archon.

And Scar, think of the Resolute hull as just more opportunity to go classic Excelsior.

I don't know...I *think* I could make a Fed one I could live with if I got the 3 pack...but can't say for sure without seeing all the angles.

Over all they sound kinda crazy...all of these extra bonuses...7.5 power to every subsystem and a extra console slot...not to mention innovation mechanic.

The Tucker looks good from the top, but the side view of all 3 are truly a swing and a miss.

I'd have to give my vote to the Tucker and not because it's the tactical ship - it's just the larger arrowhead style saucer that sticks out that bit more is helping to pull the look together.

I don't know...I'd say the Scott with the nacelles and saucer of the Tucker...the smaller parts would be hard to say without zooming in and inspecting personally.
