Hello!
So I've been playing on my Sci toon alot lately, and been flying the T5 Vesta I had bought back in the days when I used to PvP - and when PvP was still a thing.
Right now, while I'm still levelling the Sci Toon through PvE content, I'm liking the changes and how powerful Sci has gotten. I decided to invest into a T6 FED Sci ship, and shortlisted to the two ships:
1. T6 Pathfinder
2. T6 Brigid Class
I was going to go for pathfinder straight, but the Temp BO seating offered by Brigid class is what has me appealed to Brigid. I want to ask, how useful is this Temporal BO seating - in terms of temporal space powers?
Tbh, I really love the Pathfinder because its an Intrepid class variant - but also am curious if Temporal space powers would be good for a Sci Toon + should I go for the Brigid class instead?
Regards,
Mack

I've not used the temporal seating much as to be honest, I didn't really get on with it and dumped it in the end. Someone else can probably give you a bit more background on that front, but I tend to be a more old-school train of thought with BOFF powers. The Sutherland Class also has an option of Temporal seating if you fancy some Nebula goodness.
I would say you need to consider the consoles alongside the ship itself. The aeroshuttle that the Pathfinder gets is nothing special at all, whereas the stuff that comes on the Multi-Mission Explorers is somewhat more interesting.
2 of these consoles in particular - the Brigid's Isometric Dispersal Array and the Palatine's Radiation Bombardment Matrix are quite nice. One boosts energy damage and crit severity, the other exotic damage and turn rate.
In the build I use, which is on a Palatine class (the tactical variant) I coupled those 2 consoles with the exotic particle focusers from the fleet lab and a Delphic Tear Generator console from the exchange. Combining all that and pointing yourself at a target, group of them or otherwise, you can throw out a tremendous amount of damage when you throw down a grav well, RSB and Subspace Vortex. Enough to more or less wipe out an Infected gate spawn single handed.
That being said - if you got those separately, that would break the 3-pack and end up costing you about 9000 zen, compared to 6000. Odds are there will be a sale on later this week which will hopefully drop the pack costs to 4800 zen or 2400 zen for a single ship, so on the one hand, it's 3 ships for a slightly higher outlay or one ship for a cheaper price. Either way, definitely don't buy anything just yet, wait until the sale.
My take would be to go for the 3-pack Multi-Mission explorers for the best mileage out of your zen.

If you want to go full Temporal Space-Wizard, Nautilus Temporal Science Vessel might be more interesting to you, as it has CDR Sci/Temp, a LT Eng/Temp & LtCDR Uni seating, and that should give you some decent flexibility for Engineering and Science abilities, as well has Timey-Wimey Shenanigans.
Also the Molecular Deconstruction Beam can pack a punch if timed right.

In terms of what temporal abilities to use, you want an Entropy Builder (Recursive Shearing, Channeled Deconstruction, Heisenberg Amplifier, etc) and an Entropy Consumer (Rapid Decay, Timeline Collapse, Entropic Redistribution, etc). See detailed list HERE
Basically, you want to use Abilities that build Entropy (denoted as counters on the target frame like combo points for rogues in WoW), then fire off an ability that consumes entropy.
Examples of combos:
Channeled Deconstruction + Entropic Redistribution. Strong Single Target attack with decent AOE damage, as well as applying Entropy to more targets.
Channeled Deconstruction + Gravity Well + Timeline Collapse + Torp Spread. Build entropy, gather them all up while Applying strong AOE damage/control, Torp Spread for kicks.
Need healing? Other Entropy Builders + Causal Reversion. Strong heal based on the amount of Entropy on targets in 10KM but does not consume it, also removes any DOT as well as any Entropy on your ship.

The Temopral abilities have been nerfed with Season 13 so they are not that apealing anymore but are still Ok.

Thanks for the input all, I'm specifically sticking to above models as those are what I really wish to fly. Also, I already re-charged my zen prior to this post, exactly for purchase of one ship.
The Temopral abilities have been nerfed with Season 13 so they are not that apealing anymore but are still Ok.
Ah, thank you for that information. I suppose the Pathfinder it is! Though eventually I will get the Multimission Reconnaissance cruisers T6 pack, depending on how further I continue playing on this science toon.

Personally i find the temporal abilities a bit meh, most have been heavily nerfed as well. The problem i had is that you need an entropy builder and an entropy user, really that means giving up 2 ability slots for temporal powers where as most other specs you can pick just one if you like it.
So for me the temporal ships are a bit more restrictive i find.
The T6 Vesta's are all pretty darn good though. Their fancy consoles are actually quite good for a change.

It's good to know the consoles are useful, but I really just avoid using them in general. They tend to interfere with the build concepts I have in mind. At the very most - I keep just one really. I like to host consoles which boost over-all stats capabilities of the ships.
But yea, I'm setting up the Pathfinder, with my main character being the sugar daddy for all the fancy stuff.
