Hey,
So, one of my Sale purchases was 4 extra character slots. I'm thinking I'd like to use one of them on a Romulan Engineer. I'm trying to decide if I want to make this guy allied to the Klingons or the Federation. I've already got one Romulan allied with each side.
Klingon Pros:
Marauder Doffing >>> Diplomacy Doffing
Plasmonic Leech is already bought and paid for.
Federation Pros:
More Admiralty ships, maybe?
(Anything else? There has to be something...)
If any of you folks have two latinum to throw at this question, I'd love to hear your thoughts.
Thanks!
Retired Admiral

It’s easier to get your hands on certain higher sought after consoles as a Klingon, such as the one found on the Atlas, so you can make more savings that way, but it’s balanced back by the fact that the Klingon boffs and doffs tend to be more expensive.
In ship terms, the feds have more ships available at the lower tiers so they’ve got the upper hand on admiralty stuff.
On a personal note, I dislike the design of Qo’nos. Everything is spread out and the extra loading screen to reach the shipyard is annoying. ESD has everything centralised and it’s typically closer to everywhere you need to be once the game opens out into the joint storyline.

For the Lockbox consoles, Romulan is Romulan.; K-Rom or F-Rom won't impact availability. (I think? Right? It's already been a hell of a day here, and I'm frazzled.)
Point conceded about some Q'onos design/layout issues, but the only time I ever go to the homeworld is if 1) I need to train some boff skills, and 2) I'm not near Delta Command. Any other time I need something, I go to Ganalda Station, which is just fine with me.

It's really your personal choice. There's no real pros and cons if you think of it other than factional difference and where you got more resources. Less resources doesn't mean it won't be fun is all - building up on a side is its own opportunity.

Very fair point, Mack. In the "Gen Has an Idea" flowchart, I'm right in that "Thinking It Through" step, where it's supremely valuable to have someone jostle me and say, "Dude! Don't overthink this."
Thanks.

I always think of K-Rom as having more perks on paper (contraband, being able to convert tribbles and prisoners into something vaguely useful, etc.), but having a lower QoL in general (layout, mission writing being either Klingon or Fed-oriented, muted color palettes).
I prefer F-Rom because all the advantages of a K-Rom eventually become minor over time (for example, the slight edge in income isn't really appreciable once you have everything and you're just making your stockpile bigger) while those QoL disadvantages would just annoy me all the time.
