Thing is, I have an issue with blood or anything that has the appearance of blood. The idea of eating red coloured meat makes me physically ill. On top of that, I got food poisoning from eating undercooked beef several years back, and that was a steak cooked medium well (that I had asked to be cooked well done), and while the poisoning was ultimately linked to cross contamination and not the beef, the experience only compounds my dislike for it.

That being said, I would never force anyone to cook their food the way they don't want. You do you. I'll do me.

And I fully understand your position. I live in Alberta, home to some of the largest producers of North America's beef (1.6mil head annually, totalling 69% of canada's fed cattle), and I see the looks people give me when I place food orders, and further more, my mother likes her steak Blue, so the dinner table at my mom's is fun times.

I'm a former fast food worker, short-order cook, and line cook. I have seen (and eaten) some … stuff.

Ketchup for lobster.
Chocolate sauce on dry scrambled eggs.
A large pizza crust with tomato sauce and anchovies only.
Cornbread with vanilla frosting.
A shrimp corktail*, peeled and put on white bread. With the corktail* sauce.
Mashed potatoes with peas and applesauce instead of butter or gravy.

My freak-out food is chicken on the bone. I can't eat it. Chicken strips? Fine. Nuggets? Okay. Shredded BBQ chicken? We're good. Fried chicken? Not a bloody chance. And stewed tomatoes. They're just nasty.

I eat peanut butter and Miracle Whip on white bread (with or without Cheez Whiz). I put ketchup on scrambled eggs. I drink pancake syrup. I eat canned pasta straight from the can. Everyone has their "food thing" that makes them weird. I'm sorry the chiding tone did not come through.

* Intentional typo to circumvent the naughty filter

I'm a Security Guard man, I've had people yelling in my face calling me Racist and every derogatory epithet under the sun and I've kept my cool, You'd have to try pretty damn hard to be mean to me in order to get a reaction from me.
