True, but you can lock or unlock the mods you want to re-roll or you want to keep unfortunately the video is a bit misleading

That seems to be the case, with it being balanced out by it getting more expensive as you get more specific with the slots instead of gambling on the greater randomness chance.

I know this is nice but the emergence content drop I completed in like a few hours.... when are they going to release something significant? :-(

I've watched some videos posted from Tribble. If the cost stays the same (iirc 500 Dil and ~350 salvage for one Mod upgrade), then it will be a very welcome addition to the game, slot machine an all.

My initial impression with my knowledge is that prices for current items posted on the exchange will drop. Maybe not significantly, but they should, only because more people will be able to re-eng gear they have into gear they want.

Don't have [SciCdr] on that Nukara Deflector? Guess what, you sure can now! - Okay maybe this is a bad example as it is unknown if this can get re-eng upon release, but the Dev stream strongly suggested all items will be able to get "fixed".

Based on what has been said ... SAVE YOUR TRASH DROPS IF YOU WANT TO USE THIS SYSTEM. The higher mark and/or quality, the more salvage you will get for each piece.

So ... anyone know of a Foundry mission that drops a bunch of junk?

I'm not sure the Nukara Deflector you cite is a good example, Scar. My read of what's going to happen is that Rep gear, even when it is capable of being Re-Engineered, keeps its mods. (However, the Epic mod will be up for grabs.)

Yeah, it was an incomplete example to be sure. the idea is that the current Epic mod for the Nukara Def is not [SciCdr] ... but you could get it eventually.

On Tribble (as I saw it), Delta Rep stuff and newer can get re-engineered, while older Rep stuff may depend on the item (KCB can, Omega Deflector can't ... for now).

The devs have said that for now, the rep gear is largely off limits for the new system, but it may be added in properly down the line. I’m not 100% clear if the reputation store items bought purely with dilithium are allowed to have altered mods or not however.

I’m not too clear if lobi weapons and gear can be tinkered with either, but it looks like lockbox stuff can.

From what I saw, some of the more recent Lobi stuff can be re-engineered. But my treasured Spiral Wave Disruptors can't ... at least not on Tribble, suggesting they won't be able on Holodeck to start.

Also, almost all Rep gear post Delta Rep should be able to get re-engineered.

What was surprising was that Advanced Fleet weapons could be re-engineered. This could be a very economical way to get wanted Mods on "traditional" weapons.

Crafted weapons on Tribble were a mixed bag: TR-116b and Aegis set could not at all, yet crafted deflectors (for example) could.

Overall, I'm excited for this

Is there any new missions coming out does anyone know? Last release was a bit bare as far as mission content is concerned!

One of the devs hinted not too long back that they'd completed a new mission but they gave nothing away about when it was due. It was implied that the mission itself was built but the voice acting hadn't been recorded yet so it may well be ready for this month, we'll have to wait and see.

Just an FYI, all of the x2 Epic weapon mods with the Re-engineering system appear to have been removed as of Friday on Tribble. Guessing they felt CrtDx6 was too OP
