I get the impression that the recent feature episode is pulling the attack on ESD stunt to explain away the refit and update to the station interior. They've talked about updating it for years so it sounds like it may finally happen.

I can already tell you that they are revamping it and it will be the DS9 from the show.

I'm guessing Kurland did actually die during the last episode. After all, they can't have Bort do the voice for him, so better to do that then anything else really.

I think that it'll likely be the True Way who are aligned with the Dominion, while the Union are aligned with the Federation. The True Way never saw anything wrong with the Dominion and so I could buy that part.

If we're still doing the two sides thing, we know the Union Cardassians are with the Federation. We can take the Dominion and True Way and give them to the Klingons. The Romulans can have just stragglers of Cardassians who just don't care for either side. Union and Stragglers would be able to run at level 1. Not sure about Wayers. You could have them infiltrate the Empire from level 1 so that you don't need to create new storylines for them, just modify ones that are KDF.

The Jem'Hadar ships would be entirely locked off to the Jems, however, they get access to the Klingon ships. With Cardassians everywhere, you just need to release a "Cardassian ship" that only Cardassians can fly, but can also access the ships that everyone else.

That's assuming the two rule thing. You could just easily if we actually have a breakaway from that finally, we could just have it that the True Way have taken over the Cardassian government, surprisingly non-violently, and made overtures to the Dominion that have them side with them. This would however need to make 1-50 storyline possible and since they haven't announced something like that, I'm going to assume the first rather than the later. Gets them around the need to create a bunch of new content, but rather repurpose old content of giving new situations. It would also allow them to go "here's your Cardassian" without having to bring in Cardassian itself before it is ready for it.

Should be interesting to see how many new quests the new faction gets. While the blurb only suggests 6, I'm assuming that means 6 that advance the current storyline. They did something similar to with LOR and everyone got worried about Romulans, but they had an assortment of them. I would suspect though that there won't be as many for the Dominion as there once was.

Here's a guess from me, that promo art spoils him eventually becoming a Captain in the storyline.

BTW, I'm not saying an actual spoiler, I'm just guessing as to why they did that.

Also, dammit I'm now going to have to play the game for my mom because she loves Garak.

ahh Garak DS9 would not be the same without him, although not sure how far in the future this expansion takes place will it still be 2410?

They did move the time forward from 2409 to 2410 with LoR/Delta Rising

If they move it up, it'd only be to 2411. At some point they did establish that the Tzenkethi thing is "late" 2410, so they might be setting the stage for another new year.

It could also be that Odo wants to make reparations to what the Dominion did at the end of the war, buy supporting them.
