Forgot to add this, the song played in-game for me earlier on, I thought it was kind of neat as I happened to be fighting ferals at the time.

Got a chance to play for about an hour--didn't get too far, just roaming around, but had a lot of fun. Would love to go in as part of group play in a future play test.

I was wobbling a bit on going ahead of Fallout 76, but having now had a taster of what's going on, I'd say it's worth it. I've not really tried the building mechanics yet as I didn't drift off the main path to look for a quiet spot, but I'll be there on launch day.

For the first time as well, I'm not buying any of the special editions, just the bog standard one. I don't think the Tricentennial version is worth the extra cost.

I broke down and bought it. Got the standard edition though. Cosmetic Items are not worth an extra 30 dollars.

Agreed, the cosmetic items I don't believe are worth it. I also went with the standard edition too.

As an initial review of the game, Fallout 76 feels like just a multiplayer Fallout 4 with musical instruments.

That's not really a bad thing though, Fallout 4 had some good aspects to it, the biggest problem for me with 76 is the lack of human NPCs, I understand that having really people running around makes the world feel alive, but at the same time, I think there should still be some flavour NPCs around.

Sorry, should have made myself more clear. Being a "multiplayer Fallout 4" isn't a bad thing at all in my mind. I really enjoyed Fallout 4! Still play it from time to time too. I agree with you also that it would be nice to have actual human NPC's still around too.

Fallout 4, imho, was quite awesome due to being able to add loads of mods for graphic improvements and other QoL stuff.

As 76 is multiplayer, I am doubtful if it would be mod-friendly.

Anyone hear anything regarding mod support for 76?

God-Howard said in a Q&A that private servers w/ mod support would be in the works, just not at launch and not anytime soon™ (people are guessing within a year of launch at the earliest).

While there's no test running tonight - next sessions are Saturday and Sunday night - if anyone wants to try the game out, I've just received an invite a friend e-mail from Bethesda so I've got 3 beta keys going spare to whoever wants one. Keys are for the PC version.
