Hey all:

I'm a Tac officer that has spent most of his career flying cruisers. I like getting in close and pounding away. As of late, however, I've started to consider trying out an Escort class ship. I've narrowed my choices down to A) The Advanced Escort, B) The Tactical Escort, or C) The NX Refit.

In all honesty, I've heard that the MVAM console isn't all that great...so I'm not sure if that should enter into my decision.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I'll try to get my skill tree up later...but it's probably a mess...so assume the worst.

All three ships are good, the NX is better for DPS than the other two ship and the console of the NX is part of a very good 2 piece set if you use Phaser, Disruptor or Plasma.

Yeah. I saw that! That definitely tipped my scale more towards the Tactical Escort...although the NX still tweaks my interest. Although I heard that the NX is a bit squishy.

All true escorts are basically glass cannons. Go for the NX, I just mean to use that build as a template. The seating's will change from ship to ship, but the general build will be the same(ish).

I'm working on a T6 Jem'hadar Recon ship myself now, and it has been going pretty well using this template.

I would not worry about the consoles that come with a ship so much; its more about the seating of the ship (if you are chasing numbers). The aesthetic of the ship matters to some. So what matters most to you? How the ship looks or how it functions. Having both is a win-win to you

Don't get me wrong, consoles DO matter, but I would not recommend buying a ship with the intent to use it's console on that ship, if that makes sense.

As above, the coincidence is that the NX has a console that also works with another console for a powerful set bonus

Since I am a snowflake, I would run the NX because very few people (when I play) use it

Well, for me, top priority is a combination of King Arthur and Sir Robin..."PEW PEW PEW...RUN AWAY!"

But seriously, I want something that can walk onto a battlefield and kick the crap out of everything...and if she looks good doing it, that is certainly a plus. and I LOVE the look of the NX...although the Hestia runs a VERY close second.

Right now I'm using a T6 Prototype Dreadnaught Cruiser (TOS) with an AP build...I'm sure she could be better but she's a beast...especially during the Mirror Universe PVE. When I get her abilities going with a full complement of shuttles out, she rips through anything short of the Dreadnaught.

Nah. Ships are not built for the weapons. Pick what you want to use.

Having said that, the Tactical Escort + Phasers = definite PEW PEW.
