Top placings in these events (most of them at least) has always rewarded some random piece of gear. Back in the day, it's my understanding that was the main source of purple XIIs. These days, naturally, 99% of that is Salvage-bait.

I just cash them in. I need the EC more than the Salvage. My stuff is set up the way I want it (or I don't care about it), and it's just the Mk/rarity that needs boosting. Thus, I Romulan Admiralty all day. I FED Admiralty all day as well, but all that work for Spec Points? UGH!

I've been giving a half-ass effort on the queue all night and yet I still managed to do this. This was run 44 since the event started. Either I've got very lucky or an especially poor group.

I got that bug where your ship won't move at the start and the shields are down so I had to log out and log back in and by some miracle I still got third despite the CE being almost dead.

I generally get 1st aside from when I tried to tank both blasts, dying 2 out of 3 times in the second shockwave.

Apparently I can no longer eat the second blast with all the buffs and secondary shields I have, though Rock and Roll still rides out the first one.

I've noticed I've been getting 1st place now more than anything.

Infact, yesterday when Arimimochi and myself queued together, we had died once and still he managed to secure 3rd and me 2nd.

I refuse to believe each time I get queued with poor group, what gives? Or did high DPS people take a vacation? lol

I went against my principals of using only canon builds and swapped out the quantum phase console and torpedo for the kinetic cutting beam and assimilated module on my dreadnought, I'm ashamed of myself but at the same time giddy that I got first

Last night was the first chance I've had to give it a spin, so I got in the IKS VoKor'At and tried it out. Overall things went fine except for the part where I got popped at the 33% pulse. I still got 3rd place. There are worse fates.

It's gonna be close for me to get all 14 shards for this, but I ought to be able to do it. If I don't, I hope the next run comes sooner than 2 years from now.
