If it's got an Experimental Weapon it won't be 5/3. Best you can hope for is 5/2, but be prepared for the possibility of 4/3.

I'm gonna guess on it being 4:3 as that would fit most escorts and also some of the lighter "cruiser-like" ships we have like the Nandi warship. I doubt it'll be 5 fore as that's going into battlecruiser territory and full on 5:2 is too heavily tac-centric i'd say.

Finally the New Orleans is another ship I really wanted for some time but having no Romulan or Jem'Hadar variant is exactly what people were afraid when they allowed Romulans and Jem'Hadar to fly the ships of the faction they joined.

The news about the Romulan version is disappointing to be sure, but given the work probably being done on the Discovery content, I can almost excuse it.

However, if this crap happens two times in a row, all bets are off. (Cryptic could also allay this sort of concern by getting a Jem'Hadar Veteran Destroyer out ASAFP.)

I've seen a post on Reddit from a dev saying it can use the original New Orleans skin/model. So that would make it looks more like a Galaxy than an Andromeda.

I have to admit that I get excited by this suprise news. It might be just the kind of ship I can imagine to fly for my AoY character who's sitting in a plain T5 only Mirror Science Vessel at this moment. Hopefully it has a good turn rate.

The New Orleans was never seen beyond a wrecked hull at the Battle of Wolf 359, but here we have a shot of the original model of the USS Kyushu, which was a kit-bash made from an Enterprise-D model kit (or so says Memory Alpha anyway):



I have to admit, with Age of Discovery coming up, I'd expected them to gear new ships towards that era. To see a canon TNG era vessel appear after such a drought, it gives me a bit of hope again that the Ambassador class will indeed appear one day at T6.

I get the feeling that the model makers are getting to do a few personal favorites these days, hence the redo of the Miranda, Excelsior, Kobayashi Maru etc. Seems that even if the model doesn't go with a new ship they are willing to go and update old looking skins to enhance them.
I think it's great really, as the older models look pretty poor compared to the newer non-canon ones.

Been confirmed by the devs that there’s no Romulan or Jem Hadar counterpart, only Fed/KDF options on the table.

Moment they announced that Rom and JH would get access to all of their chosen factions ships they were going to use it as a excuse to stop production on Rom and JH ships.

I'm thinking 4:3:1.
5:2:1 requires a turn rate of 15+ out of the box, and I don't see something with that big 'ol saucer turning that fast in stock gear.
The 5:2:1 layout is for dive bombing. Line 'em up, pew-pew-pew-pew, and bail out. You can't do that in something that has a turn of 6.
