That's kind of true. But right now in Admiralty, the 9 assignment limit is a bigger bottleneck than my ship roster. I wouldn't tell someone to buy a ship just for its Admiralty card; to me that feels like a fairly expensive purchase.

This. I don't play the Admiralty game anymore because it's persistent management was chipping away at my fun.

Being a "collector" in my gaming life makes me what the ship. Heck, I still want the Gal-X because SPINAL LANCE OF DOOOOM.

But it's true, I'll not fly any other ship with dedication (which is also why I really don't want to buy a Sub: I'd barely use the ship!). Somehow THIS ship has my interest though and I'm still investigating "why".

Ok, so side question. I've never flown escorts or any other ship that can use an experimental weapon. I'll be buying the Lafayette when I get home from work so I could use some suggestions as to which experimental weapon to use. I remember seeing one that looked like it fired a bolt of lightning and seared my eyeballs so if it's subtle as well, so much the better. So any recommendations?

The bug-zapper is the default Experimental Weapon that all ships have, regardless. Two other ones I like apart from that are the "Voice of the Prophets" (from the Bajoran Interceptor, if you have that), the "Distortion Pulse Overcharge Something or Other" (fine, I forget the exact name) from the Jem'Hadar Heavy Raider. I've also heard quite good things about the Railgun from the Allied Escort Bundle, and IIRC, the Flak Cannon from the Competitive Rep is pretty nice.
