Free Rice is an excellent website which donates rice to poor countries in desperate need.
It's been up since 2007 but has received a recent revamp (been on BBC News again as a result). The website works by giving the user questions to answer on a number of subjects (you can choose the subject yourself), and with each correct answer 10 grains of rice are paid for by the site's sponsors. The more answers you go through, the more grains of rice are donated.
Some of the questions are fairly simple, vocabulary questions for example (which is what they just started with in 2007). So it's easy to end up donating a good meal within a few minutes.
Absolutely worth a drop by as it's so simple to make a difference.
