This should drop the prices of the weapons too all being well, at least in time as the demand is likely to shoot up at first when AoD launches.

The discovery boxes were going for about 650,000 EC each last time I checked. I cashed all mine in at that point for a few bits and pieces as I was never going to open them.

I think so too.. after all it would be foolish to wait and launch AoD mid or late November because of the winter event dropping in December.

I prefer the infinity box over regular boxes actually, better chance you can get something to sell something on the exchange for easy EC, like T5 ships

I'm confused as to why people think prices will drop...does the infinity lock box have better drop rates than the themed boxes?

I guess it's because historically the price of a ship/item has normally dropped once it got into the Infinity box.

The reason for the drop is probably because the item (say the Crossfield) has been extremely rare for months and therefore quite expensive (500M EC+ in this case). So people who get a T6 Infinity choice pack all suddenly start picking that ship out to sell, thinking they'll get a good high price. Sadly (or not for the rest of us!) that just floods the market and thus the rare ship becomes quite common on the exchange and so prices are forced down as nobody can shift them.
And once the ship becomes more common it's hard to force the prices back up outside of some questionable market manipulation tactics (as has been seen with the Vonph/Acheros recently - both went from least expensive to suddenly 400M+ in a few days )

Most T6 lockbox ships seem to stabilize around the 300-350M mark these days. Currently the Crossfield is 500+ and lord knows what the Sarcophagus is at.

it seems to have crashed hard in price from where it was originally. It used to be challenging the Constitution class in the silly money stakes, now it's around 390-560m EC.
