    Or it could be something as simple as a single line of 'if this/do this' code.
    That works for the boffs to an extent, though my understanding is the effect for player characters is hard coded, so they would likely need to dismantle it and put it all back together again.

    I don’t know if it still holds true today, but STO is allegedly filled with code that not even the dev team fully understands as none of them were involved in it.

    As a programmer who deals in code that sometimes goes back to the late 90s, I can't say I approve of this situation, but I at least understand it. :\

    I understand Jack Squat and Jack left town, but it makes sense to me too Tongue Out

    First impressions: the tutorial was better than I anticipated and I felt a part of the Discovery version of Star Trek for it. After the tutorial, "Morgana" took a break because Scarlett is "the man" ... so to speak.

    I spooled up all the Reps, did the "normal" pre-beat down maintenance and got properly spammed by Quinn to go-here-and-do-that. To shut him up I accepted all the things and then did a Romulan Minefield and ICA.

    WHY HAVE I NEVER DONE ROMULAN MINEFIELD?!?! It was sooooooooooooooo *breath* ooooooo easy. I mean, I have killed myself in the Azure Nebula Rescue for Marks (among other oft-repeated queues) argh.

    Anyways, ICA was interesting because no kidding there was a Malachowsawhatever-class in there but the mission went well (got second-best DPS too Smile )

    THEN I went to some Nebula near Sol to start a Discovery-eque mission and had to stop after J'Ulma Thurmon was chased away by a "top secret" space cow. Wearing an Odyssey uniform and using a Fleet Phaser Split-Beam Rifle, surrounded by Discovery NPCs with their pop-guns kinda breaks immersion, but I get it.

    Overall, I'm ok with the changes I have seen so far. If there is something I would love, it would be to use the Discovery-style UI for my "old-school" Feddie. I mean, I can switch out the color palette, but I'd rather have the overall style for Scarlett. Meh.

    On one side, right now all that's available are Human, Vulcan or Alien, and it's not like there's a Recruitment event running, where you MUST roll someone up now.

    The flip side of the coin is that it looks goddamn gorgeous. I haven't seen a minute of DIS beyond the pilot, and I'm >< that close to rolling up a new character just to experience that new tutorial.

    I think it will flop, as long as you can't have seperate Ground and Space Builds.
    I'd like to know if you have changed your mind on this...because I personally think they are fantastic.

    I'd like to know if you have changed your mind on this...because I personally think they are fantastic.
    I had no reason to play them yet, and wont until Cryptic fixes their brain dead design flaw that people have complained since specialization came out but have been ignored until now and only now are the Devs saying we should look into it.

    What I hear so far are AFKers, leavers and runs that totally go wrong.
