However, it's not likely. Cryptic is probably going to have to do some creative retconning.

The first casting announcements for the upcoming Jean-Luc Picard series are here. Joining Sir Patrick Stewart as he returns to the role of Jean-Luc Picard will be Santiago Cabrera and Michelle Hurd, both of whom have been cast as series regulars. No word yet on who their characters are.

Shaw has a monopoly on online streaming service for TV, and Bell Media is one of the Big 3 phone/media companies in Canada (Bell, Telus and Rogers). They have the money to make them, and they have the money to make doing buisness in Canada unprofitable.

Sounds like it’s going to cost any 3rd party broadcaster a significant amount of money going forward.

As bad as corporate bullying is, CBS are no angels, when they decided to charge Netflix over 100% of the cost of Discovery so they could air it internationally. It's disgusting, and perhaps, CBS need a taste of their own medicine.
