So in June, I bought a limited edition "Play of plays" Blue PS4. It was my first new console since I had ps3 gen one for several years. when my ps3 died out, I went to a local game exhange and grabbed a cheap ps3 to continue my small but limited game addiction.
When Spider man (ps4) was announced I waited and waited but gave in and bought the limited edition blue ps4 (since they said there would NOT be a spider-man LE ps4)(LIARS), the new console was amazing! I enjoyed playing MK XL, Overwatch, and transfered my characters from D3 (ps3), to PS4. Oct my PS4 one day suddenly stopped working. I took it to a friend of mine who took it apart and found that "bugs" had taken residence. He cleaned it and "fixed" it. I completely freaked out and bombed my entire house. with the Bug situation gone, it worked flawlessly until recently my Ps4 stopped working again. My wife played with it a bit and got it working.
I had to cancel my Overwatch Event because it stopped working, later that night my wife got it working and laughed and said "it takes a "woman's touch", since I had done the same exact things she did to get it to work. (unplug and replug and press power button)
My Question for the Community is What do you guys recommend? Taking it to a repair shop is 60 USD just to look at it, plus additional fees for whatever problem fixes that might be needed. My buddy who did the fixes said that normally would of been 180 bucks for the work he did (free for me though). I don't want to drop it off with him again and ask him to fix it again since he isn't a repair man, he did it cuz he works on Computers and offered to get it working since he is a buddy of mine.
Right now I got it working, but clearly there is still an issue that might not allow me to use my ps4 when we want. While i use it for gaming, my wife uses it for dvd/bluray watching, and I recently had installed Plex for media browsing.
thoughts?

That sounds seriously iffy in my opinion and i'd be considering taking it back to the place you got it seeing as it keep breaking down.
However the fact it got infested probably voided any warranty and the work you friend did on it certainly would have i'd guess if any seal were broken.
That said though it really is just a PC in a fancy case so it might be possible to fix whatever is wrong with it yourself if you have the confidence. A lot of repair places change extra for the benefit of you not being scared you'll blow the thing up but it's really not that difficult to do some basic repairs like swapping out readily available components you can but dirt cheap online. Same for mobile phones, iPads etc. They really are not that hard to repair yourself if you have the parts and have confidence to tinker with them.
