Hey Everybody,

I am pretty new to STO, and I really need some pointers or guide to check out for TAC officer builds. I currently have a Fleet Tactical Escort T6, but I think I want to be in a cruiser for more survive-ability, but I am not well versed in all the different builds/officer/specs that go along with that. Any pointers or ideas?

Hi Hawke,

There's a section of the forum that has some builds from Bridger but if you're new to the game, some of the equipment might not be available to you yet. There a section of Reddit called STObuilds and they have some good stuff on there. Alternatively, you can go to YouTube and look for Timberwolf's channel. He does budget builds to get people started on their way to more damage and higher end gear.

You can develop some survivability in that escort ship as well. But it takes time, planning and some tweaks.

On the other part, if you've decided on switching to heavier ordinance, the arbiter and the shepard (fleet versions) are solid choices.

If you have 3000 zen, purchasing the arbiter from the C store will also unlock one of the best damage-related traits in the game for energy weapons (cannons/beams). That will also result in a cheaper fleet arbiter variant (if you got the c store version, the price drops from 5 fleet modules to 1 fleet module).
