Only because they already have the Paywall it's behind overseas. It's just sour grapes. I have friends that were livid that The Expanse moved to Amazon Prime.

I don't think I'd ever heard of The Expanse until they saved it, one of those things I've still not got around to watching, alongside the Lost in Space reboot.

I do think the streaming services are getting too fragmented however. We're seeing a shift backwards towards the old days before things started merging together. Everyone seems hell bent on having their own service for their own stuff instead of branching out and getting it out there on as many as they can.

The show he's referring to is called The Madalorian and it's exclusive to the as yet unreleased Disney Plus service.

To me the fragmentation is no different than Cable TV Service here in the states. If there are 10 channels I want they are spread across 6 different packages forcing me to buy the highest tier package to get what I want.

Buying 3 or 4 streaming packages is cheaper than cable plus the bonus of no commercials. The other benefit being you can pause the packages if the show you want is not currently in season.

its funny i pay comcast a lot of money for internet/ tv and phone but nothing but re-runs on TV its like everything payed these days is the best way to go, its sad.

I saved well over $100/month buy dumping cable and just getting internet from Comcast and subscribing to Netflix, CBS AA, and Amazon Prime. I get better content and no commercials for less money.

I don't think its sad, I think it's great. Cable in the US is a monopoly....streaming gives us choice.

I think you may have mentioned this in another thread but it's got me thinking how much I'll save if I did the same when I come out of my current Telus contract here in British Columbia. We already have Amazon Prime and Netflix and we currently pay C$155 for the TV/Internet package (it's the one where I get the Space channel for Discovery and my wife gets lots of channels for dramas like 911 and The Village).

Unfortunately, Discovery is only available on the Space channel here and we don't get it after broadcast on Netflix, so going stream only would mean no more new Trek unless either All Access comes to Canada or Netflix picks it up. But the potential for savings may outweigh my desire for Season 3 of Discovery.

Seams you are have a Paywall issue with Discovery as well....only yours is Cable TV lol

Yes, I have said it in other discussion. Just chart it out......add it all up and compare, you'll be shocked at how much you'll save.

It's not as clean cut as that here. We pay £62 a month (roughly $80 US) and that gets us our phone line rental, 200mb fibre optic and all the available channels, save for the movie and sports channel packs that cost extra. In a bizarre move, if we dropped everything except the fibre, it would actually cost us more per month. Even if we went elsewhere, we're at best saving £20 a month and internet speed would drop to less than half of what we're getting now.

There's a couple of shows exclusive to Sky Atlantic which we don't get as we're with Virgin Media, but otherwise with Netflix and Prime onboard, we've pretty much got things covered. Factor those in, it's about £76.50 a month, or $98 US.

So I had a quick check, to keep the same internet speed will cost C$100 no matter which provider (there's only two in this town) so we'd save C$55 per month before adding in any streaming channels like Crave or Hulu.
