Word to the wise if your a Fed who happens to have the Mirror Escort Carrier the Trait and Pets from it work extremely well on the Buran I've noticed.

If your Klingon or Klingon Aligned, count your blessings cuz you get the trait for cheap.

I was gonna ask what people thought about it, I've been doing a lot of thinking recently about traits and such that reduce boff cooldowns...was wondering if this trait was worth considering.

When it comes to cooldown reduction, my only advise is use the cooldown calculator and see if it's going to work for you.

FYI I use A2B to be safe from it and to get the benefit from Cold-Hearted and Controlled Countermeasures.

I have to say I appreciate Bridger engineering a build which makes this ship work. He’s not only helped the UFPlanets Community but the entire STO Reddit with this build performance which enabled many with their purchase decision. In a way, Cryptic owes him - this could’ve gone bad for them.

After using this ship for sometime I have some thoughts. It is not a very build flexible ship. Ive never used traits like harrying maneuver or abilities like emergency power to engine, rocking an engineering section with no heals at all. This ship did definitely challenges my existing comfortable way of how I put in abilities to play a ship. But at the end of the day, I don’t find myself complaining, I’m enjoying this ship a lot.

If so it would be at the loss of the Inspiration system that it currently has as a ship in general only has one hull based special ability tied to its role. And the inspiration ability is tied to its command function. None of the vanguard ships have any hull based specials past said vanguard wingmen.

Im pretty sure though that a lot of people would be fine with that tradeoff because the vanguard wingmen ability is awesome. If you disregard its presentation then its essentially an ability that does passive damage to enemies when not in use, damage that is amplified by your ships +polaron damage consoles. Its triggered abilities has dual triggers. You can trigger a significant heal to self or others, AOE cone damage to all enemies infront of your ship or a shield drain/resist debuff. It has a very short 20 second or so cooldown when used, individually on both triggers, and it returns to doing passive damage during this cooldown.

The heals alone frees up Boff slots and triggers on heal traits.

I'm trying it out on a freshly minted Engineer and I'm liking it so far. Though the character is only level 12 and the ship steers like a hippo in a pool of toffee, there's just something nice about it.

The shuttles are vicious little swines too.
