Starfleet Command has decided to close the JAG Department. The decision was made following discussion made by SFC in consultation with the JAG, Admiral Alex L.

JAG was seen as a worthwhile experiment in determining how the {UFP} could deal with instances of rule breaking and how arbitration and legal matters could be dealt with.

Following this experiment it has been decided that more power should be given to commanding officers within the fleet to deal with issues within their respective spheres of influence whilst ensuring at all times that issues are elevated to the correct levels and are resolved in a speedy and efficient manner.

A central point of contact will be appointed where all matters requiring attention will be sent to, this point of contact will then ensure that issues are referred to the appropriate officer(s) and are dealt with in a timely manner, they will also be responsible for record keeping.

Until this role is assigned to someone full time SFC Member LynxMukka will be the temporary point of contact.

Starfleet Command would like to take this opportunity to thank all the officers that have contributed to the creation and running of the JAG Department with special mention to Admiral Alex L who has served as its Commanding Officer and one of the driving forces behind our current legal system.
