Yes grinds are part of a mmo, probably everything that isn't instant could be labeled a grind to an extent & not just for mmos. Did anyone say everything needed to be instant or just trying to make clever banter? I didn't suggest such nor do I think anyone else would propose such. You state about when considering a 9+ year old game then 70 days doesn't seem that long & that is true. Why compare it to how old the game is though? Do you think as the game ages the grind should be more by that rationale? Why not compare it to how new or old the player is since that is the direct impact that matters to the players? It probably isn't done considering the impact on a new through old players because that would take way too much calculating to scale that for each & every player. Could it be done? Yes, similar to level scaling, but it is far easier to just have it at a base value for everyone to experience. It isn't just the 70 days though which I stated & you conveniently glossed over it is the other resources too. The days, which if I'm correct, of your 70 example is for the whole kit & kaboodle to T6. For myself I judge whether or not I think the time & effort will be worth it. To me, Rep items cost a lot & most times aren't worth it compared to fleet gear & maybe some mission rewards. If I don't think I'll use any item from a particular Rep then why do it? It is a tougher decision if I think there might be a couple of items I might use eventually. Luckily the Rep items are not time-sensitive. However, special time-sensitive items briefly added to a Rep could be a new idea similar to the time-sensitive fleet holdings.

Well a lot of the stuff is named after characters in the show and that is what makes it legendary, even though people were ordered to pretend the ship and crew never existed?

Yeah I liked those brief interview snipets at the end of that episode about blah blah blah never say anything. I still don't see the "legendary" tie-in by definition especially since I can think of a few more ST characters I think are more "legendary" but we're still living in a Discovery push. I think it was just some catchy phrase someone at Cryptic thought would gain traction with us players maybe. I wish Cryptic would at least explain how they came up with it during a livestream.

That should work. Or in a ship like the Fleet Recon T6 (New-Orleans class), with its 4/3/1 setup.

My thoughts exactly. On my exotic build I see myself taking 2 piece tanking set.

For everyone else the power creep set. And oh my God.. what a power creep.
