The ten day giveaway thing was a mistake that's been passed around so much it has just been treated as a fact. No one is really sure where it comes from. Don't feel bad about it though, because even I was passing that false information around until recently here.

I have to say that this episode was my favorite episode of STO. Especially Episode 2 because of that end fight. Though I really suspect we are supposed to be in the Khitomer for that fight to tie it all together.

Hearing everyone talk about this episode really makes excited to play it. I am currently ranking up in the game. Would it be worth it to get as high a level as possible before playing it? I assume the rewards are level dependent?

The rewards do scale with your level, but you can just run the mission again later to get the rewards at their max

I saw a Reddit post that shows how to get the best upgrades on items.

If I recall correctly for a Mk II VR Item you use an omega rarity upgrade and then a single green normal upgrade to take it to UR at about MK V I think.
Then use an other special omega upgrade for rank increases and another single green normal and it’ll have a guaranteed chance to go epic.
BUT if you do it on any higher rank stuff it won’t work because the rank increases quicker than the rarity so you get stuck with a Mk XV UR, and also the current upgrade weekend might push things too far as well.
I’ll see if I can find the post to link it.

You should be able to get from UR to Epic fairly easily at any level using [Quality] upgrades with only 1 Tech Point. Granted, a Mk II VR has a MUCH greater chance of going Epic...

Still, I like the option.
