Loved this one back in the day. Cloak was OP as hell and taking planets was hard for me to pull off. I'd usually just dominate space and keep all the other factions unable to fly, since I couldn't lose space battles but couldn't win ground invasions.

And the epic battle over Earth with the borg which was just barely won!

Ahh... I have fond memories of BotF too...
Although the non-canon ships looked even back then goofy...

Tried the All-in-One, did not like... all I want, is a "Boomer" explanation (hand-held walk through) as to how to get the freakin' basic game to work on Win10 w/out the cursor moving so sluggish as to make the game unplayable. Not some massive all-in-one thing, not a link to some message board with complicated or unclear instructions, none of that. Concise, direct, and a simple patch. PLEASE!

We can't give you a patch, and this is a three year old thread with a link to a resource that would make the game run on a modern system, there has been a 2023 update to the All-in-One installer, which you can find here: https://www.armadafleetcommand.com/o...pic.php?t=3509

They give a decent walkthrough, with picutres to help, short of someone logging onto your PC to install it, you aren't going to get much better than that.

The only other solution is to get a retro PC, with Windows XP on it, or a virtual machine.

Yeah, lol. But I have found that on some older games you have to actually turn down your mouse polling rate. These older games don't always know how to handle the barrage of data our modern mouses send back.
