So overall positive but with some definite stinkers in there too. Pretty standard for a Trek series to be honest!
I think the biggest aspect of the series that annoyed me the most was the cheap cgi copy paste ships in the finale. Felt like they could not be bothered with what many expected to be an awesome final episode showdown.
Stardust City I feel gets the low votes because of Icheb getting killed, which to be honest I think is not that big a point in the story. He was a boring minor character in Voyager and was pretty much forgotten about outside of a few episodes; not a memorable character for me so I didn’t really care that he got killed.
Then again I didn’t mind Hugh getting killed either; as cool as he was he was still a very minor character from TNG so harshly like they’d killed a main cast member.

Is Stardust City rag the one where Picard had the eyepatch? Overall I would agree with the general assessment, but that one episode was a real stinker.
I don't know how that could possibly have gotten greenlit by the producers...

While luckily the massage of the episode was a different one, I had nasty flashbacks to Canto Bight and Roundhead Johnson...

I personally loved all the episodes of Picard. Let me know when we can talk about the final episodes. I have a theory to put forth. I wanna see what other trekies think.

I think Stardust City's votes are less about Icheb and more about it being what seems to be an unnecessary distraction. The story was already slow enough to start, it finally picked up pace when Soji stopped sleeping with some dude she barely knew, and then wham we hit the brakes on Picard to do a Seven thing. As someone mentioned at the time, that sort of change of pace is something you'd see much later in a series to take a break from the main story - but the main story just started! Everything prior to that was just unnecessarily slow build up!

Thanks for sharing summary numbers! It is easy to get wrapped up in seeing people go online to vent about the negative stuff like Starfleet's lack of ship diversity in the final episode (though never the same for the Romulan fleet...), Icheb's graphic death scene, or whatever else.
What is harder to tease out of those rants though is the positive side of the story, which in this case is that these negative votes are only a small minority of voters (which may be even smaller since these total numbers could reflect the same person voting negative on multiple polls). No show is going to please everyone every time, but social media seems uniquely suited to giving haters and the more toxic side of fandom an outsized voice.
Overall I am looking forward to many more episodes of Trek in whatever forms it comes out in.

This is the positive message.
Being agile and able-bodied is a privilege Picard has taken for granted, even after his Borg assimilation, and the lack of it becomes a crucial plot device that carries through to the season finale.
So Picard, a victim of a form of Rape that in our reality does not presently exist, needs to acknowledge he is privileged.
Picard challenges him to check the privilege he’s enjoyed through various series as an able-bodied male Earthling of elevated Starfleet rank.
Pretty sure Rank and the privileges bestowed by it are earned, as you progress in Starfleet, especially in Picard's case.

StarTrek.com wrote this about the show. With insider info from Kurtzman and the writers, this was their goal, what they wanted to achieve.
And the majority are okay with this? Really?

You really want an answer to that?
Yes, yes I do.
I want someone to honestly tell me that this show was Good not just a pressing the 'Approve' button because it was okay. But to tell me that this is actually Star Trek and not just a good generic Sci-Fi show. That they approve of Jean-Luc Picard being dragged through the mud. A person who fought for others rights, stopped so many conflicts and helped in so many other ways.
You dont have to explain why, you can if you want.

[...] tell me that this is actually Star Trek [...]
This, noone really can.
Compared to every big Science Fiction IP, Trek has one deadly disadvantage: Trek is a child of its time.
Trek was created in a time when mankind looked outward, beyond the boundaries. When mankind still achieved real scientific breakthroughs. A time where we tryed to be a better tomorrow than we were today. But this spirit was lost.
Look where we are today...
A bickering shadow of past glory, devided by forced tribalism over which replacement "faith" (because we finlally lost the little that was left of the spiritualism we still had and then made up sh*t to fill the void gashing inside us) is the supirior one. We stopped caring for each other, now we only care about us in everything we do - everyone else, even close family, gets thrown under the bus so that we can "proof" to our "tribe" how "virtuos" we are...
And to "feel" better...
By this, everything after Roddenberry's passing is no real Trek. But we made due with it, adapted if you will.
As for STD and Picard...
That is what happens when you employee people not after talent (both for writing and for acting) but rather to get "brownie points" from a very very very small but vocal demographic which Dosn't. Even. Give. One. Single. F*ck. about you and your IP, let alone watch it.
They only care if they can complain!!!
