Cryptic hasn't been super aggressive with development for a while now. Given the resurgence of the Trek IP with Discovery, Picard, and soon to be joined by Lower Decks, Strange New Worlds, Prodigy, and who knows what else in the pipeline (Section 31? Another movie? Something else?), providing fandom with a full array of books, games, toys, and other swag to empty our wallets on is normal for most companies. Instead, we get largely recycled ships maybe with new skins and maybe an extra new trait hyped sold not at a discount but at a premium price with no option for a la carte shopping in a decade-old game. While STO is arguably one of if not the best effort to turn Trek into a video game, it isn't getting the love such a hot IP would normally get. It almost makes me wonder if these cash grab bundles are a last hurrah for STO before some new Trek game is dropped to replace it.
