I'm fully prepared to see another spike in rubberbanding if not an outright server crash tomorrow, unless these "squadron" pets are just graphically separate but functionally a single AI controller per 6 fighter set. There's always a chance this is just an unveil of Cryptic actually overhauling pet AI more broadly, but I'd be surprised if that is the case.

I'll be pleasantly surprised if it isn't a copy/paste. I'm waiting for others to jump on all these ships and vet them out first before I'm making a call to buy or not. I still have a few days of beach bum grinding to do for the event ship and favor shopping before I need to worry about other new ships anyway.

And just think...bad enough with all that beam spam...but 6 fighters per launch and all of them have a plasma torpedo? 36 HY plasma torps per hangar bay (Since it says you can obtain them from the Romulan rep too) A carrier and that will be up to 72 HY plasma torps flying around at one time.

I wonder how good the new support frigate hanger pets will be from this new bundle. I also wonder what other ships with hanger bays will be able to equip these hangars when it says "Full Carrier."

Given how much rubber banding and lag I’ve experienced these past couple days, I hope the servers don’t get any worse. I even did a tracert in command prompt to check how my connection was and my ping was 100ms or less. Given I’m in the UK I didn’t consider that bad at all. No packet loss either. Despite that I’m still getting desync and banding lasting several seconds at times. Very jarring to gameplay.

To be honest, pets would probably not cause so many issues if they were treated as just "one" unit. Have a flight of say four fighters by all means, but have them share a HP bar and they get shot down as the overall unit loses HP. It would reduce strain on the servers for sure. As it stands, I can have four individual shuttles or whatever instead all doing thier own thing instead of being treated as just the one unit. It's a bit like the old Homeworld games if you ever played them. HW had individual ships, whereas HW2 had squadrons.

Presumably only if the ship type is 'carrier', not 'cruiser' (that also has some hangars).

They said in the ten forward twitch stream last night that a "full carrier" is any ship with 2 hangar bay slots.
