Levelling with Level Squish:
I've been reading the wowhead guide on how the revamped levelling experience works. So far, I actually like and prefer this structure. I think it is more encouraging to make more alts and experience missed expansions this way.

However, experienced players seem to have more choice on how they wish to proceed in the new system vs. New Players - this is another distinction people need to familiarize themselves with. So it's best to get a toon to 120 now, as well as create Death Knight and Demon Hunters right now as they will loose the high level advantage they currently gain upon the character creation. Though I'm personally not sure how a current levelling class will adapt to changes in Shadowlands.
Flying, Riding & Pathfinder:

Bye bye Artisan riding. New Druids can only fly at level 30 after buying Expert Riding. Maybe make and level a Druid now too.

Right so, the levelling is going to be very different for various different players/classes/current levels.
At the start of Pre-Patch, the new levelling experience will already kick in, along side the level squish. This means that if a current player creates a new alt, they will be given the option (upon completing the character creation screen) to choose either the standard starting area, or the new Exile's Reach area.
I created a new character on PTR to try the Exile's Reach, and honestly this is the fastest way to get to level 10. I got 3 levels with 3 quests.
Afterwards, when you arrive in your capital, the players will be able to find Chromie near the respective Embassy buildings, and they will be able to choose which expansion they wish to level in. As it stands right now, without the 100% bonus XP event, the levelling from 10-50 takes approximately 10 hours.
All new players (I assume they mean newly created accounts after Pre-Patch release), will not have the option to pick an older expansion, and will instead be forced to level from 10-50 throughout BFA. My reasoning behind this is due to the events that tie themselves into Shadowlands, so that new players can make sense of it. After the 1st character goes through this, any new character (alt) on this new account will be able to go through the previous expansions.
As far as flying is concerned, there is no pathfinder that you can simply buy and fly in the last 2 expansions. This will be tied into the actual flying skills such as Expert Riding. The reason being that the actual Pathfinders achievements will remain in the game as achievements to be farmed with Rep, so that new players can still obtain the expansion mounts.
There's a lot of contradicting information regarding flying itself at the moment, but I as someone who cannot fly in Legion and WoD, I can tell you that I did not need to buy any form of "pathfinder" (not that it even exists) to be able to fly in Legion and WoD starting from Pre-Patch already.
All in all, there honestly is no point in panic-levelling toons now to get this or that achievement or level requirement for god knows what. It will be so easy soon enough that it won't make a difference.

I felt the same. Because at one point I also read that any current levelling toons should be pushed to 60 and to buy flying, as this flying will be faster than the Shadowlands flying at Level 30. I suppose I'd rather focus on getting BFA pathfinder for now than worry about Legion and Broken Isles.
All in all, there honestly is no point in panic-levelling toons now to get this or that achievement or level requirement for god knows what. It will be so easy soon enough that it won't make a difference.
I wanted to panic level something but since I started reading wowhead I decided to not do it, and your experience is great to hear as well. Mainly I plan to have 4 "main" ish toons in Shadowlands, one for each Covenant.

That's the beautiful thing with the Shadowlands expansion. Having alts is encouraged, that's why they made levelling them so easy, and almost rewarding. I never got to experience any past expansion before BFA, since I always levelled some of my alts through dungeons alone.
Even in the higher end raiding, having an alt will almost be a requirement, and also encouraged, given that instead of being benched, we can just relog

So, as you all know, this happened.
Screenshot taken from BattleNet
13/10, 2 resets from now we will be getting the Prepatch "content". Let's face it, that content is about 1 short event that I completed in PTR with a friend in under 2 hours.
However, we will also be getting the new levelling experience! Anyone going to be levelling any new characters during that time?
Also, the Reputation event (100% extra rep with BFA and Legion) will continue throughout the entirety of October.
