That was a fun little jaunt through the Mirror Universe, but ultimately serves no purpose with the overall plot other than getting rid of Georgiou.
Ordinarily I'm not one to criticise DSC as I really enjoy it but I can't help feel that with a scant 13 episodes this season; "wasting" 2 of them on a side plot to set up a spin off show is pretty crap.
There just is not the luxury of time free to indulge in side plots that don't move the main quest along; also why Burnham/Book's romance is totally uninteresting to me. I don't like seeing valuable time wasted on silly side stuff when time is so short for the main story.

On to other better things....

1) The Guardian of Forever was pretty well done and obvious to those reading the paper last week. Also, it makes much more sense that the Sphere would be able to plot where an entity like that might appear, but not a Q who can appear anywhere they want. Also the Q don't tend to allow changes to the timeline as such, they prefer to mess about. The Guardian is much more serious and allowed Georgiou to show her true colours and be "weighed".

2) Talking of being weighed; nice nod to ancient Egyptian mythology there I feel; she needed her "soul" weighed to see if she was worthy of being taken to a new plane of existence or in this case being given a rebirth elsewhen.
In the mythology souls of those who had a good/just heart were permitted to enter the afterlife; those lacking were devoured by a beast.

3) I wonder how the new future played out for the MU now the emperor is dead and the Kelpians have started to advance beyond their traditional culling age there? This new timeline would mean the empire that Kirk encountered would be much different to the cruel and backstabbing of the DSC era one we've just seen.

4) More banter between Stamets, Adira, Reno and Book please!

5) The Emerald Chain are a bunch of halfwit pirates and bullies. Can we just see them get their arse slapped and be done with it. They are low on dilithium and their flagship got it's arse handed to it by a single courier's ship; they really don't strike me as too problematic if Starfleet would just get some courage.

6) The nacelles now use Polaric energy to transfer/generate power. We've seen this stuff once before in VOY: Time and Again. It has potential to devastate an entire planet and its use was banned after the Romulans blew up and entire colony of theirs by accident.
I hope it is used safely in the 32C that's all I can say!!

7) HOW MUCH LONGER DO WE NEED TO WAIT FOR NEWS ON THE DAMMED SIGNAL/SHIP IN THE NEBULA!!!! It's taken them literally weeks to discuss the apparently galaxy shattering news of what caused The Burn...come on guys, a bit faster on the most important discussion of the whole season please!!!!!

Well I definitely saw Carl coming.. the newspaper was the giveaway! anyway, great episode from season 3 again!

I guess the newspaper actually kind of threw me because I remember in Voyager's "Death Wish," that the Q Continuum (no relation) also used a newspaper as a device about the goings on within the universe. Even after looking at the newspaper more closely thanks to TrekCore, I didn't quite make the connection.

Same thought crossed my mind too about the Q newspaper in Voyager. Admittedly it has been a long time since I rewatched TOS episodes too, so that didn't help. At the end of the day though, there probably are more similarities than differences between a Q and the Guardian. After Carl, they seem to be even more alike than different now.

I knew what it was right away ut I couldn't remember the name of it lol I would have been i disappointed if it was Q dont get me wrong I like the Q I just think that it would have been to much .
now they have to rush and cram everything into the last coup[e of eps which I think is going to be disappointing. I hate it when they are all over the place trying to please everyone yet have short seasons

I suspect this will be a multi season storyline rather than the burn being totally solved in season 3. I think the seasons should be longer though
