Seeing as this is nearly a thousand years after the last previous series was set I think there's little to base any design on so these are a nice fresh take on things.

The only future ships we ever really saw were the temporal ships like whatever the Wells Class in STO is based on and the Ent-J. To be honest both of those two ships had designs which could logically lead to these designs; more natural curves, less obvious ship systems like engines etc., detached or very slim connections for parts.

The U.S.S. Nog looks rather cool; reminds my of the Axiom from Wall-E, lol!

Although I really like the design of Mars class and Saturn class, I still want to say that the appearance of the 32nd century intrepid class is really... Beyond words, it really looks like a simplified version of the 24th century intrepid class.
In fact, it's not even as good-looking as the 24th century version in my eyes.
Until now, I can't understand why the designer chose to design the back of the Starship as a plane. Is it possible that he still plans to use it as a flight deck for the shuttle?
And in the details of this ship, I even feel that the designer didn't think about it carefully, just to make her look like the previous intrepid class.Unamused

Is the Voyager J the 11th refit of the original Voyager, and just kept adding letters, like they did with the Discovery A? If so, I think that's pretty odd, but I also find it unusual that this Voyager is still an Intrepid Class starship. If it's the 11th refit of the original Voyager, still being an Intrepid Class starship makes sense, I guess, but if it's the 11th starship to carry the Voyager name, then I find it odd to be reusing an existing starship class name for a new class of starship.

I agree with Bridger, the ships have an uninspired feel to them. I appreciate how Star Trek, up until now, had a general consistency to the ship designs. That consistency implied a purpose of design...a reason for being built that way. These new designs are all over the place. These future ships look more at place in Star Wars than Star Trek.

I wish that they had put a little more effort into maintaining the consistency of design, just iterated into a future version, like they did with the Voyager J (which I think looks very boring, but is at least in line with Federation ship design). I suspect that budgetary constraints led to the simplistic future design aesthetic, though I would have appreciated a little more inspiration from the ship artists!

I suspect that Voyager-I was destroyed in burn, while the original Voyager was not destroyed because it had long been a museum.
After that, due to the shortage of Starfleet starships, the original Voyager was transformed into Voyager-J and continued to be used. This can also explain why the 24th century version is so similar to the 32nd century version.
