    The in-game economy has been in a really sorry state for years now, it's nigh on impossible to make any good amount of EC without using keys or lockbox loot. I forget when the EC was nerfed but it was way back in the days of the old ESD.

    I remember when I bought the Wells many moons ago. I had to sell everything I had that wasn't nailed down (and a few things that were) to generate the capital for it.

    I bought several lockbox ships years ago and the most I paid for one was about 200M I think. The most expensive ship I ever bought was my Amarie years back and that was only 900M.

    Long gone are the days of getting something for those prices. There's just endless pages of the same junk nobody wants; Undine cruisers, Voth science ships, a few odd Delta Quadrant species ships.
    Promo ships don't even exist on the exchange these days so most people will have no idea where to acquire those from; and the scalpers will rip off the uninitiated I'd imagine.

    Anyone saving up for a promo ship these days is in for a long and sorry drag unless they are willing to pour real cash into the game.
