Appearing as the grand prize of the (NAME TBD) Lock Box, players will soon have the opportunity to fly the updated, 32nd-century version of the hero ship appearing on-screen in the latest season of Star Trek: Discovery!

This ship – as true of all Federation starships – may only be commissioned by players that either began their career with the Federation, or later allied through their Romulan or Dominion storyline missions. Captains from the KDF who have reached level 65 will also be eligible to fly this ship, as part of the “Cross Faction Flying” unlock achieved at that level.



Crossfield Science Spearhead Refit (T6)

Console - Universal - Kwejian Assault Craft
By activating this console, a Kwejian Assault Craft may be launched from the ship's aft shuttle bay to come to your aid in combat. The ship is built to damage and harass foes, and is extremely mobile. It will remain in combat until recalled or disabled. If disabled, it will automatically recall itself, and place the console on recharge.

Upon launch, the Kwejian Assault Craft will follow your targeting to the best of its abilities, damaging and harassing whichever foe you are currently targeting. This agile and fast vessel is equipped with multiple phaser weapons, photon torpedoes, and the abilities listed below:

Smasher Assembly / Superluminal Smash (as seen on the player version of this ship)
Rock and Roll
Cannon Rapid Fire I
This console additionally proves a passive bonus to Outgoing Healing, Max Hull Capacity, and Recharge Times for Miracle Worker Bridge Officer Abilities. This console may be equipped on any starship in any console slot.

Starship Trait - Universal Designs
Each time you activate an ability of a Universal Console, your ship gains a boost to universal Critical Hit Chance and Critical Severity. Each activation of this Trait refreshes the duration of all existing stacks, and you may have up to 5 stacks active simultaneously.

Per activation/stack, for 20 sec:

+2% Critical Chance
+10 Critical Severity

This is a very manoeuvrable science vessel with a decent hull for a science ship and her "Universal Designs" I think is a very strong Starship Trait, except for her boff position which I don't feel comfortable with.
The combination of Miracle Worker and Commander expertise makes me think this ship is better suited to torpedo attacks.
(But why did the original Temporal and Intelligence disappear after the refit, was it because the production team had the 32nd century Temporal Accord in mind so neither the Janeway Class nor the Crossfield refit had a boff position for the Temporal specialization? )

Why is that still a thing? On normal difficulty its probably nice if you use something like the alliance cruiser trait with several thousand shield reg per cycle. But on advanced and elite shields are usually kinda useless.

Im not so sure. You need several universal consoles and thats usually impractical just to get it all stacks once every 2min. I rather use the endeavour trait without bothering with consoles.

I think this Starship Trait can be used by numerous Space Wizard starships, for example when attacking a certain boss or high defensive enemy, the science ship often needs to release all the console damage it has accumulated on this enemy, and this Starship Trait can instantly increase the damage dealt by the combo skills in this environment.
Also during this time, normal boff skill damage is enhanced, and after accumulating five levels both the sustained damage of vision skills such as Gravity Wells and the instant damage of Spore-Infused Anomalies are significantly increased.
All in all, I think this Starship Trait is a good fit for significantly increasing the overall effective damage that science starships can deal in a short period of time.

The trait might be ok if used on a boat with a lot of console clickies, the unconventional systems trait, and the tippler console, but spacing the clicks out to keep the bonus going might be more trouble than it is worth.

As for the ship itself, no temporal mechanics or seating plus no secondary deflector means it isn't going to be a top tier exotic boat, and only a lt. command seat limits its potential as a pure torp boat too. It would probably make an ok tank or DEW build, but the seating and consoles aren't awesome for that either. It seems like this is a ship that tries to have some potential to do everything and by trying to do so isn't really spectacular at anything.

I watched the Ten Forward stream where they talked about this ship today. Basically the trait is very much aimed at Space Wizards (they admitted it), but without temporal seats this ship won't be top tier for exotic builds. The thing that makes these builds so overpowered is the Spore Infused Anomalies trait, which triggers a strong blast wave from each active anomaly you have up. Two of the current anomaly options are temporal boff powers, so any ship without temporal seats will have far fewer SIA procs than ships like the Verne that can get 5 anomalies running at once.

As for cosmetics, this ship is compatible with other Crossfield parts and skins, but you have to have the other ships to unlock those other skins. They also said that Legendary bundle owners were never guaranteed free access to future skins on those ship types, so no 32nd century looks unless you get the new ship.
