For once, the code functionality is working just fine. Cryptic just seems to be completely determined to drain every scrap of surplus Zen from the market with sale after sale this month. Some people are still selling zen, but the demand backlog is so high at this point that the top offers to sell zen table never has a zen surplus to show anything. Zen sells as soon as it gets offered.

Its working and you can buy zen at the max rate of 500 but your not getting it like you would if the market was competitive your placed in a queue for your request this can take anything up to a few days for you to see a return though here is one example i read earlier of someone waiting for 48 hours to get what they put in for.

They need to do something, because the game economy breaks down if the exchange stays borked like this.

There is a fair volume of players that rely on the dilex to supplement or fully provide the zen they use for purchases from the store. Many of these players will never spend a penny on the game (and tbh they are paying with their time to populate the world whilst they grind), some might buy zen occasionally but nothing like the whales out there. They are not going to be supporting the game financially if they have no means to get what they want.
Stuff in STO is already ridiculously priced for an 11 year old game. You're expected to pay the equivalent price of a brand new full game for a single ship for crying out loud!
The dilex is a means for those less well off to supplement their costs in the game; or to pay with time. It's a fairly decent game mechanic tbh, and one of STO's better aspects. You can buy anything you want, or you can earn it through time playing; the choice is there for everyone.


There's a fair bit of zen for sale currently but nobody is buying it which means those players still spending cash to sell zen are losing money. This means those players who are less well off are out of luck getting zen from the exchange, and those with plenty of money and zen to sell are also out of luck as the price is ridiculous!

Lose the basic player base and your game dies.

The game cannot survive just on the spending of whales.

The Exchange was never this bad, once the new EP took over and the game started pumping out bundles and promo ships it was only a matter of time before it ran dry.

It's that bad huh? This effectively benefits them...it means less f2p'er can buy things if they didn't pre-exchange their dilithium
