Another overpriced bundle bloated with crap 99% of the players don't need and costing so much that most people will have zero interest in buying it.

Not much in this game for a casual player that doesn't have a fortune in disposable income, or no financial sense anymore.

I hate to say it, the ships sound nice and I particularly like the assimilated look of the Scimitar. I've always been partial to Rommie ships though.
Unfortunately with back to school shopping underway for my kids and the dil exchange still exhausted, the timing couldn't be much worse for me to splurge on games. Guess we'll see what kind of exorbitant price tag gets slapped on this and wait for a future sale to reevaluate.

Get a big assimilated Scimitar feel from that, the DD looks good but worried it will still just be a whale with no real redeeming qualities.

The new D'Deridex is the first MW / Temp ship which will definitely allow for some interesting builds. The Cmdr MW gives the Warbird an extra console and an extra +10 power while the LtCmd Temp Tac allows it to do science without taking any science seating for abilities like grav well.

With regard to ships being "whales," any ship can be made to fly and turn fast 100% of the time, you just need the right equipment and abilities. With Fortified Competitive Engines, any hull or shield heal counts for the movement proc (lasts 5 seconds) so 3 boff heal abilities with a 10 second min cd would work assuming you cycle them constantly every 4 seconds. This also has the added benefit of giving you +100 inertia all the time so you won't have any sliding.

The 3 heal abilities to my knowledge with a 10 sec min cd are:
1. Aux to SIF
2. Eng Team (with Fresh From R&R space trait)
3. Sci Team (with Fresh From R&R space trait)

I've been able to get 25-30 turning with my Enterprise J and Valkis with this method, and it works both in combat and outside Earth Spacedock.

The fun thing with the competitive impulse engine proc is that it stacks with Evasive Maneuvers and Emergency Power to Engines buffs. I fly a Khopesh scimitar variant on my Romulan engineer, and it is always fun to pop off a few of these at once and make the ship handle like an escort and zip along a speeds rivaling full impulse for several seconds without actually having to activate full impulse (nice if you don't want to wait for a Red Alert lockout on Full Impulse to end). If you have an open device slot, you can also throw some Deuterium Surplus devices into the mix for an 8 second speed boost comparable to the one you get from competitive impulse engines to keep the speed boosting going. Just between those options (and maybe the Emergency Conn Doff from the Phoenix store that greatly reduces the Evasive Maneuvers cooldown for good measure), you can keep a big, slow ship moving pretty nimbly for pretty much as much as you need it in combat if you stagger them properly.
