Ok then how would people be interested in a DPS School? it wont be just running for scores we can talk about builds look at what you have and where you can change things like traits, consols etc? it would be a mix of talk (teamspeak not required can do it over game txt chat) and improvements to your builds using both "free earnt ingame items" and "premium items" IE lockboxs etc, obvisouly Premium end game lockbox items are not for everyone and i completely understand this, it is not "JUST FOR THE ELITE!" as UFP dosn't accept and will not tollerate Cliques and Elitisums, this is to help anyone and everyone who wants to improve their game.
Once we know where we're at we can even run the missions / tfo's you need for said items and help along the way there,
Let me know how and what you feel on this and i will set up a date that benefits the most people

As a beginning player it would be wise to know what I should be putting points towards from the start, rather then learning after and having to respec.

I like these ideas. In my humble opinion, part of giving advice is knowing the big picture first: those who want help should share what they have first. Switching weapons is easy, making them work within the whole ship is different and needs discussion.

Sounds like fun.
Personally rather than tell people how to do things; better to let outlet explain what they want to do to and then help them build around that. There’s so many ways to build ships in this game, it’s a pity a lot of guidance out there just railroads players down the same cookie cutter meta builds.
Let’s see if we can help people build some weird and wonderful stuff to enjoy the game with!

I may be mistaken, and I should have reinforced this, yet I think the best way to offer assistance is knowing what exists first.
I've seen plenty of questions (in other places) where someone says something like, "I really want to use Tetryon, but which is the best?"
So, I suggest, as players request assistance, to present to whole build as-it-is in order to assist with discussions.

I'm good with the idea, with the caveat that we maybe ask for a realistic budget expectation too. That way we don't have people suggesting premium kit like DPRM consoles and whatnot if the person doesn't have the budget for infinity/promo priced ships, lobi gear, or even c-store stuff. Realistic, shorter-term goals to suggest to players is going to be way more motivating than moonshot goals that might take years or never be obtained.

This is a bit difficult. For example do you know if you are going for Beam build, or a Science space magic, or a tank? One option could be to save the points and use them when you are at lvl50 for example.

There are consoles that can be used instead of DPRM or any other expensive ones. Mentioned User Bridger has posted this Alternate Consoles Traits and Abilities
Also, there is a good selection of equipment from various sources, either being missions, or fleet holdings, to support a number of builds like Phasers, Disruptors, Polaron, etc.
