Was thinking about this brute earlier and the more I do, the less it makes sense to have it as a temporal ship.
The future Connie is an absolute juggernaut of a ship compared to other Federation designs that we've seen, like it's a projection and symbol of both the Federations power, influence and heritage. Making it then one that is for all purposes illegal essentially, it just a silly justification. This ship would attract a lot of attention the mere second it shows up. I mean, if you're going to have it running missions from a nope, nothing to see here, move along please viewpoint, wouldn't you have it as a smaller more nimble and inconspicuous design?
It would work much better as a Miracle Worker I feel. It strikes me as a vessel that's sent to deal with a problem and get the job done. Look at its ancestor, despite crews getting killed and weird space anomalies, it very difficult to knock a Constitution totally down.
