Captain's Log

Captain's Personal Log, 306th day of the 1007th year of Kahless.

We have made landfall on Krios Prime to resupply. At the moment, our accounts are flush with darseks from our last employment with the Nyberrite Alliance. One of the ships we took as a prize turned out to be filled with a certain chemical compound needed by the colony in which the prize master operated. He was an honorable man, and paid well, although he could have tried to conceal it. The blood wine will flow tonight.

But for how long?

I am...not accustomed to the idea of poverty. We are far from that now, but I must admit that the concept of working to support one's needs is more daunting than I ever knew. Before the discommendation, leading men into battle in an Imperial vessel was for glory alone! Not to furnish my table, like some washer woman in need of bread.. The pittance of darseks paid by the military was suitable for drink and gambling. For entertainment. House D'Ghor is not without resources, even after our main assets in the Empire were wrongfully seized, but I prefer not to drain those, and create new revenue sources.

Which is why I'm leery of this meeting Cargomaster Silva has set up.

It is for work, but he strongly suspects it of the unpaid kind. He believes it may bring new allies to our side. House D'Ghor needs that above all things. I must hope that the gagh lasts until after the allies are won.
